Eibar v Barcelona Predictions and Preview
Barcelona were running away with the league title; 11 points clear of Atletico Madrid in second and a further eight of fourth-placed Real Madrid.
However, that lead has now been cut to just seven points after successive draws – a 1-1 draw at Catalan neighbours Espanyol and scoreless stalemate with Getafe – and they will want to bounce back to winning ways.
Ernesto Valverde’s side will find it tough at La Liga’s in-form team and will have one eye on their midweek fixture with Chelsea.
Eibar have won eight of their last 12 league games and their only loss in that run was a 1-0 home defeat by Atletico Madrid.
Barca are still priced as strong favourites to take all three points at odds of 8/15, while a home away win is available at 6/1 with the draw at 7/2.
If you fancy the away side to be in the lead at both half-time and the final whistle, you can find odds of 13/10 while a Barca win to nil is priced at 17/10.
Barca’s last few games – 2-0, 2-1, 1-0, 1-1, 2-0, 0-0 – have been low scoring, while Eibar’s last four games (excluding their 5-1 win over Sevilla) have produced two goals or less. Fewer than 2.5 goals is 29/20 while under 1.5 goals is 4/1.
One to watch for Eibar: Chilean winger Fabian Orellana has netted three goals in six appearances for Eibar since his January switch from Valencia, including two in the recent triumph over Sevilla. He is available at 11/2 to score anytime here.
One to watch for Barcelona: Luis Suarez has already scored 19 goals this season for Barcelona, including 13 in his last 13 in all competitions. He is priced at 19/20 to score anytime in this fixture.
Long shot: Experienced Eibar defender Ivan Ramis has scored in each of his last two outings – a constant threat from set pieces, he is 22/1 to continue his streak against Barca – who may be vulnerable defensively from set piece situations.
