Barcelona vs. Osasuna La Liga Betting Tips and Preview

Barcelona and Osasuna club crests

Only goal difference separates Barcelona and Osasuna after 10 rounds of La Liga action. The Blaugrana have endured a torrid start to the domestic campaign, winning just three matches and boss Ronald Koeman is feeling the pressure. The Dutchman was not a popular appointment with the natives and is likely to be replaced next summer if presidential favourite Victor Font is elected.

Barcelona v Osasuna Predictions and Preview

The Blaugrana secured their participation to the Champions League Round of 16 in midweek and Koeman would have been delighted with how his patched up side fared. Barca will be without Gerard Pique for the next six months after the World Cup winner suffered knee ligament damage in the defeat away at Atletico Madrid.

With Samuel Umtiti already out, Clement Lenglet was the only recognised centre-half in the team for the 4-0 triumph over Dynamo Kyiv and was partnered by Óscar Mingueza and the youth graduate acquitted himself well on his senior debut.

Sergio Roberto will miss the next eight weeks but Koeman has a ready-made replacement in Sergiño Dest. The American opened the scoring on Tuesday and fits the bill of a modern day full-back. Dest loves to fly forward and is 19/2 to net anytime.

Sergio Busquets and Ansu Fati are also on the treatment table but Frenkie de Jong, Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembele, Jordi Alba and Antoine Griezmann will all return. Braithwaite was the unlikely hero in Europe and youngsters Francisco Trincão and Pedri both impressed.

Messi is 13/5 to open proceedings and, while he has not hit his usual stellar standard this term, is still the Blaugrana’s standout threat. Griezmann is 15/4 in the same market and compatriot Dembele is 19/10 to notch anytime. Barca are 2/7 to claim much needed league success.

The visitors exceeded expectations last season, finishing in 10th. This time out, Jagoba Arrasate’s men have collected points from five of their first nine games and a midtable place is a fair target.

Ruben Garcia and Ante Budimir will lead the line and the big Croatian will be hoping to replicate his exploits from last year. The Osasuna number 17 struck on 13 occasions for Mallorca and is 14/1 to score last. Los Rojillos are 19/2 to inflict more misery on Koeman and a draw is 5/1.

One to watch for Barcelona: Philippe Coutinho got a good runout against Kyiv and is 6/1 to break the deadlock. The ex-Liverpool fan favourite’s availability is a welcome boost for Koeman.

One to watch for Osasuna: Torres has plied his trade for Los Rojillos for a decade and is 4/1 to register anytime. The Spaniard bagged in both fixtures last year.

Long shot: While the squad options all possess ability, Osasuna will fancy their chances when they see Pique, Busquets, Roberto and Ansu Fati all absent from the team-sheet. Barcelona have toiled in contests with Getafe and Alaves and Los Rojillos can frustrate their heavyweight opposition. A 1-0 outcome in favour of the travelling party is 35/1.
