Bayern Munich v Hoffenheim Predictions and Preview

Despite the fact that Hoffenheim have won their last two games against Bayern, Jupp Heynckes’ side start the game as the heavy favourites for this one. Those two victories are the only successes for Die Kraichgauer in this fixture, with Bayern unbeaten in the 16 meetings prior.

Bayern have scored seven goals in winning their two Bundesliga games since the winter break, with Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski both bagging braces against Werder Bremen on Sunday. Die Roten have so much firepower in their ranks and with such a commanding lead at the top of the table, they’re 1/5 to pick up another three points at the weekend.

Manuel Neuer and Thiago remain on the sidelines with injuries, but despite the absence of two key players they should have more than enough to see off Julian Nagelsmann’s side. The visitors are expected to be without Kerem Demirbay and Gregor Kobel, but even with those two available there wouldn’t be much difference to the massive 16/1 you can get on the away win.

It would be a fantastic achievement if Hoffenheim can claim a point to go three unbeaten against their powerhouse rivals, with the draw priced at 38/5 in the betting. More likely though is a Bayern win to nil at 5/4, while Lewandowski to score in a Bayern victory at 8/15 looks a decent way to get slightly more value out of the home win.

One to watch for Bayern Munich: Muller registered his 100th Bundesliga goal for Der FCB against Bremen, and he’s 22/5 to break the deadlock and 11/8 to score in a Bayern win.

One to watch for Hoffenheim: After his decisive brace earlier in the season, Uth is 14/1 to score the first goal of the game and bag his 10th Bundesliga goal of the campaign.

Long shot: If Hoffenheim manage to keep a clean sheet it’d be their third in a row against Bayern, and although it’s highly unlikely, odds of 16/1 could make it a tempting bet.
