Benevento v Juventus Predictions and Preview

Inzaghi’s troops spoiled Cesare Prandelli’s return to the Fiorentina dugout last weekend and currently sit in 14th. Riccardo Improta was the difference maker on the day but it will be Gianluca Lapadula, Marco Sau, Gianluca Caprari and Roberto Insigne who are tasked with keeping Benevento in the top flight.

Lapadula produced his best ever scoring return in Serie A last term while on loan at Lecce. The Peru international hit a mightily impressive 11 strikes from 25 appearances and already has three to his name this season.

The journeyman striker is 13/5 to bag anytime, while Gianluca Caprari is available at 10/3. Inzaghi bolstered the ranks in the summer with the arrivals of Kamil Glik, Bryan Dabo, Artur Ionita and Iago Falque, alongside Caprari and Lapadula, and the Stregoni have a fighting chance of survival. Benevento are 15/2 to pull off a shock victory and a draw is 17/4.

Pirlo is likely to recall Alvaro Morata after the Spaniard was rested for the midweek encounter with Ferencváros. The former Real Madrid hotshot has been a revelation during his second stint with the Bianconeri, contributing six goals and three assists from his first nine matches.

Morata is 4/1 to open proceedings, while Ronaldo can be found at 21/10. The 35-year-old is still as hungry as ever to win both collective and individual silverware and now looks set to fulfil his contract with the Bianconeri despite reports to the contrary.

With PSG and Manchester United interested in acquiring the hitman’s services, there has been talk Juventus were looking to recoup a transfer fee but Pirlo is keen to keep his prized asset until June 2022.

Dybala, while not as compatible as Morata as a partner for the Portuguese skipper, is still highly thought of by management and will feature after the break. La Joya is 4/1 to register last, and the champions are 1/3 to leave Campania successful.

One to watch for Benevento: Falque has spent the bulk of his career in Serie A and still has plenty to offer. The versatile forward is 12/1 to notch the final effort.

One to watch for Juventus: Federico Bernardeschi has been transformed in to a wing-back by his compatriot and looks at home bombing on down the left flank. The ex-Fiorentina hero is 11/8 to score anytime.

Long shot: Benevento carry a good goal threat but must shore up at the back. The Stregoni have conceded on 20 occasions, the joint most in the division with Torino, and have yet to keep a clean sheet. In contrast, Juventus are beginning to adapt to Pirlo’s demands and methods and have Milan in their sights. A 4-1 outcome is 16/1.
