Czech Republic v Denmark Predictions and Preview
The outpouring of emotion surrounding the Denmark team has been both moving and inspirational. The Danes are in the European Championship quarter-finals through merit and talent though, with the same going for their opponents on Saturday, the Czech Republic.
The Czechs were quite literally given a helping hand against the Netherlands on Sunday, but Jaroslav Silhavy’s side capitalised on Matthijs de Ligt’s red card to beat the much-fancied Dutch 2-0 in the last 16. The Czech Republic were impressive through the group stage too, beating Scotland 2-0 before drawing 1-1 with Croatia and narrowly losing 1-0 to England.
No Czech player has impressed more than striker Patrik Schik, who has netted four of his country’s five goals so far at this tournament. Having a clinical striker is usually crucial at a major tournament, and the Bayer Leverkusen man has been central to his team’s progression to this stage.

Over 3.5 goals
The same can be said of Danish forward Kasper Dolberg, who replaced the injured Yussuf Poulsen up front against Wales in the last 16. Dolberg duly netted a superb opener before notching a second just after half-time, as the Danish Dynamite ran out 4-0 winners.
That was the second game in a row that Kasper Hjulmand’s side have netted four times, having thrashed Russia 4-1 to secure their place in the knockout rounds. Given the circumstances surrounding Christian Eriksen and their opening defeat to Finland, it’s been a remarkable turnaround for the Danes which has provided a real feel-good element to this tournament.
Reaching the semi-finals would be a remarkable achievement for either of these countries, with this half of the draw providing an incredible opportunity for all of the quarter-finalists to go all the way to the final in London on 11 July. These Czech Republic v Denmark predictions promise to be fascinating and with a huge prize on offer come the final whistle.
The Danish Dynamite are the favourites to progress from this tie, priced at 23/20 with William Hill to win the game inside 90 minutes. The Czech Republic are 3/1, while the draw is priced at 23/10. That would take the tie to extra-time, with odds of 11/2 on either team to win in an additional period. A penalty shootout is 9/2, while Denmark are 5/8 and the Czechs 6/4 to qualify for the semis by any method.
One to watch for Czech Republic: Patrik Schick has been superb so far this summer, with his four strikes taking his international goal tally to 15 from 30 appearances. The 25-year-old is certainly one to watch in the first goalscorer odds for this quarter-final clash.
One to watch for Denmark: With Yussuf Poulsen still a doubt for this game, Kasper Dolberg will hope his brace in the round of 16 assures him of a place in the starting XI for this game. If so, he will be full of confidence and another one to keep an eye on for the first goal.
Long shot: Five of the last six meetings between these countries have ended in draws, so the chances of extra-time on Saturday appear to be high. The only game in that run which produced a winner was a 3-0 triumph for the Danes in a World Cup qualifier in 2013. The same outcome this weekend is 22/1 as part of your Czech Republic v Denmark tips for this game.
