Inter Milan are looking to capitalise on their newfound lead at the top of Serie A as they visit Fiorentina on Sunday. La Viola are down in 13th after only winning four of their 15 fixtures so far this term, giving Antonio Conte’s side a great chance to build on last weekend’s results.

Fiorentina v Inter Predictions and Preview
There’s often been fireworks between these clubs in recent years, although away team Inter Milan may prefer a dull, quiet affair that leads to three more points towards what they hope will be an almighty end-of-season celebration. After Inter’s goalless draw with Roma on Friday night, Juventus went and lost to Lazio the following day, leaving the Nerazzurri’s two-point lead at the top of Serie A intact.
Every single point is going to be crucial this season, and Inter know they have to keep winning. They’ve certainly been doing their best to do just that, with Friday’s draw bringing an end to the Milan side’s five-match winning run in Serie A.
Things haven’t been quite so smooth in Europe though, as Conte’s side crashed out of the Champions League at the hands of a youthful Barcelona team on Tuesday night. Despite the heartbreak, those tough extra 90 minutes shouldn’t have a bearing on this game physically though, thanks to a decent gap between fixtures.

Over 3.5 goals
Lukaku to score first
The home team will hope Franck Ribery can have an impact on the outcome though, with the veteran winger a doubt due to an ankle injury. Kevin-Prince Boateng could also miss out, although German Pezzela is back in full training. For the visitors, Alexis Sanchez and Nicolo Barella miss out, while Roberto Gagliardini and Stefano Sensi are doubtful.
Even without that quartet though, Inter have the players to get the job done here. The Nerazzurri are the 5/4 favourites for the win, as they look to make it three wins in five against Fiorentina. With the draw at 13/5, La Viola are also 13/5 to claim their first victory over Inter since April 2017.
That game finished 5-4 to Fiorentina, following on from Inter’s 4-2 win earlier in the campaign. La Viola have also beaten Inter 4-1 twice in recent seasons, with the last 14 meetings between the sides yielding 55 goals at an average of just under four per game. With that in mind, an over 3.5 goals bet here is priced at 85/40.
One to watch for Fiorentina: Nikola Milenkovic has put in some strong performances this season, leading to rumours of a move away from the club. The 22-year-old Serb will be crucial to keeping Inter out, but he’s also 25/1 to break the deadlock on Sunday and add to his burgeoning reputation.
One to watch for Inter: Romelu Lukaku has only managed one goal in his last four Serie A fixtures, but the Belgian striker has made a great start to life in Italy and is 9/2 for the first goal here.
Long shot: Two of the last three games between these teams at the Stadio Artemio Franchi have seen over 5.5 goals, with a repeat of that available at 11/1 this weekend.
