Fiorentina v Juventus Predictions and Preview

Serie A is crying out for Fiorentina to upset the odds and get a win on Saturday. Juventus already have an eight-point lead at the top of the table after 13 games, and they are still unbeaten this season after winning 12 of those matches.

Fiorentina meanwhile find themselves in a clutch of clubs who are within striking distance of the European places. Incredibly, the Viola have drawn their last five games, which has seen them fall back a little in recent weeks.

Stefano Pioli’s side have lost three times this season, against the teams currently in second, third and fourth places – Napoli, Inter Milan and Lazio. All of those games were away from home though, and the Gigliati have a much better chance of causing a shock on their own turf.

The hosts are 5/1 for the win, but that’s going to be extremely tough against their opponents on Saturday. Juventus are absolutely flying at the moment – despite letting a lead slip to lose late on against Manchester United in the Champions League a few weeks ago.

That remains the Bianconeri’s sole defeat in 18 games across all competitions this term, and the visitors are 13/20 to follow up Tuesday’s European victory over Valenica with another three points here. If you think the game will end in a draw, that’s available at 3/1.

Fiorentina beat Juve 2-1 in this fixture in 2016/17, but the Old Lady have won all seven of the other most recent eight meetings between the sides. Max Allegri’s side could be without one of their goalscorers from last season’s corresponding fixture though, with Bernardeschi a doubt. Midfielders Emre Can and Sami Khedira are expected to miss out, while Marko Pjaca is a doubt for the home team.

Latest Form

One to watch for Fiorentina: Marco Benassi is Fiorentina’s top scorer this season with five Premier League goals, and he’s available at 20/1 to to add to his tally with the opener on Saturday.

One to watch for Juventus: Cristiano Ronaldo’s fancy footwork set up Juve’s winning goal on Tuesday, but the Portuguese will be looking to return his own name to the scoresheet this weekend. He has nine league goals so far, and is the 3/1 favourite to open the scoring.

Long shot: Juve won this game 2-0 last season, and they are 37/5 to win by the same score this weekend. With Ronaldo scoring first those odds are 18/1.
