Fiorentina seek a first Serie A win in nearly three months when Milan visit Tuscany. Like their opponents this weekend, the Florence based outfit were also in European contention, right up until the end of February, before their season spectacularly spiralled out of control. Fortunately, Vincenzo Montella’s men have hit the magic 40-point figure and are in no danger of the drop.

Fiorentina vs. Milan Predictions and Preview
It has been a dismal period for Fiorentina who find themselves in 13th, shockingly, just eight points above the bottom three. Former Inter boss Stefano Pioli stepped down from his role as Viola manager last month after mounting pressure and was replaced by Vincenzo Montella who returned for a second stint at the helm.
The appointment raised eyebrows given the Italian was dismissed during his first spell for flirting with future employers Milan and the 44-year-old is still searching for his first win.
Montella is likely to field a trident of Chiesa, Luis Muriel and Giovanni Simeone and on paper, this attack should cause problems for any side in the division. Unfortunately, Simeone has failed to hit the heights of the previous campaign while Muriel lacks consistency.
Worryingly, the initial talk surrounding the future of Chiesa was the talented winger would remain in Tuscany for the 2019-20 campaign before leaving with the blessing of the club. However, given the current state of the Viola and with not even the Europa League to offer, realistically this prodigious talent is likely to move on, much like compatriot Federico Bernardeschi. Nevertheless, Chiesa will be committed to the cause for the final three games and is an attractive 15/2 to open proceedings. Fiorentina are 2/1 to claim all three points and 11/5 to earn a share of the spoils.
Meanwhile, things are not much better for opponents Milan with Gennaro Gattuso expected to be relieved of his duties imminently. Barring an Atalanta collapse, the Rossoneri will not be playing in next season’s Champions League and this is likely to have repercussions on the playing squad. Star striker Krzysztof Piatek will almost certainly be in demand and is 4/1 to net first. Milan are 13/10 to emerge triumphant.
One to watch for Fiorentina: Muriel has the pace to trouble the Milan backline and is 11/5 to net anytime during the contest.
One to watch for Milan: Suso is back in the goals after his opener set the Rossoneri on their way in the 2-1 success against Bologna. The Spaniard is 7/1 to score last.
Long shot: There will be added spice when the teams come head-to-head, fuelled by Montella who was sacked by Milan in 2017. The Neapolitan will be desperate to get one over his old side and Fiorentina can be found at 14/1 to win 2-0 and finally get back to winning ways.
