Fiorentina vs. Napoli Predictions and Preview
Fiorentina are still understandably emotionally fragile following the death of captain Davide Astori last month.
However, Stefano Pioli’s side won six league games in a row before their form of late has faltered – a draw with SPAL followed by defeats to Lazio and Sassuolo.
Napoli secured a massive 1-0 victory at league leaders Juventus on Sunday thanks to Kalidou Koulibaly’s last-minute header to close the gap at the top of the table to just one point.
With Juve still needing to play Milan, Inter and Roma, there is a real chance that Napoli could secure their first league title in 28 years.
Maurizio Sarri’s side are favourites to win this clash at 29/50, while an unlikely home victory is available at outside odds of 6/1 with the draw priced at 7/2.
A ‘double’ chance on a Fiorentina win or a draw is available at 8/5 while over 3.5 goals in the game is priced attractively at 85/40, with over 4.5 goals at 11/2.
If you fancy the visitors to be leading at both half-time and at the final whistle, such odds are available at 6/4.
One to watch for Fiorentina: Giovanni Simeone – son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego – has enjoyed a good debut season with La Viola and is their top league scorer with 10. The Argentine forward has netted in each of his side’s last three victories.
One to watch for Napoli: Dries Mertens continues to be the main goal threat for the Neapolitans – the Belgian international has scored 17 goals in 34 Serie A appearances this season, but is without a goal in eight.
Long shot: Napoli have the second best defence in Serie A (23 goals conceded in 34 games) while Fiorentina have six clean sheets in their last nine outings. A scoreless draw in this encounter is at 13/1.
