Frosinone vs. Napoli Predictions and Preview
Hosts Frosinone suffered a setback in their last fixture. The Canaries were beaten by Cagliari 1-0 but must refocus in their quest to stave off relegation. Strike pairing Camillo Ciano and Daniel Ciofani have contributed towards 17 goals and much will depend on how the duo fare against Kalidou Koulibaly and Vlad Chiriches. Ciano is 8/1 while Ciofani is 14/1 to break the deadlock. Frosinone are 9/1 to emerge triumphant.
Elsewhere, it has been a miserable seven days for Napoli, who firstly bowed out of the Europa League before losing to Atalanta after scoring first. The Partenopei were considered favourites for Europe’s second competition but were comprehensively outplayed in both of the legs against Arsenal. Carlo Ancelotti’s debut season at the helm will result in no silverware and a second place finish which has dismayed the natives. Nevertheless, the Azzurri are odds on favourites to get back to winning ways and available at 1/3.
By his usual high standards, Lorenzo Insigne has endured a below par campaign. The local lad struggled to impose himself in Europe and was an unused substitute against Atalanta. Nevertheless, the Neapolitan should come back in to contention in an attack minded lineup with two wingers and two forwards in Milik and Mertens.
With the runners-up place all but assured, Ancelotti can experiment with his squad and Insigne should come in to consideration at 5/4 in the anytime scorer betting. Milik, Napoli’s top scorer with 19 goals, is 3/1 to open proceedings.
One to watch for Frosinone: Andrea Pinamonti. The big striker is on loan from Inter and has a big future in the game. Pinamonti has a very respectable five goals to his name and is 12/1 to score last.
One to watch for Napoli: Fabian Ruiz has had a brilliant debut season with the club and alongside Koulibaly and Milik, has been the Azzurri’s best performer. The Spaniard is 9/1 to strike first.
Long shot: The hope for Frosinone will be Napoli play out their remaining fixtures in holiday mode. Unfortunately for the Azzurri, they have little to play for while the Canaries are fighting for their lives. A 2-0 success for the home team is 90/1 and much will depend on the mindset of Ancelotti’s players.
