This weekend’s Premier League schedule throws up a key clash at the bottom of the table between Fulham and Sheffield United. Defeat for the visitors under the Saturday night lights would surely be curtains for their chances of beating the drop.

Last time: Ademola Lookman put Fulham into a late lead when these teams met at Bramall Lane in October, but a Billy Sharp penalty five minutes from time rescued a 1-1 draw for Sheffield United.
Fulham v Sheffield United Predictions and Preview
The point Sheffield United claimed against Fulham earlier in the campaign is one of only 11 the Blades have managed across their 24 Premier League fixtures this season. Already a seemingly impossible mission to stay in the top flight, anything but a win this weekend would surely condemn the visitors to relegation.
A victory for Fulham on Saturday night would leave United a minimum of 14 points from safety with only 13 matches remaining for Chris Wilder’s side. You never know what a win could do for a team who were superb for the majority of last season, but time is rapidly running out.
It would be the greatest of escapes if the Blades can pull it off, with the visitors unfancied to even get a win against a fellow relegation rival. The away team have an extra couple of days to prepare for this game following Fulham’s trip to Burnley on Wednesday evening, but they are 5/2 with William Hill in this Fulham v Sheffield United preview.

Wilder’s side did beat Manchester United away from home last month, following that up with one-goal defeats to an in-form Manchester City and resurgent Chelsea. However, they were outclassed in a 3-0 loss to West Ham United on Monday, a day after Fulham recorded an impressive 2-0 win away to Everton.
Like United, Fulham have only won three times so far this season, prior to their game against Burnley. The Cottagers haven’t won on home soil since a 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion at the start of November, losing four and drawing four since.
Those defeats were against Everton, Chelsea, Man United and Leicester City though, with three of those four clubs in the top four at present and Everton not far off. Fulham haven’t been easy to beat, managing nine draws to Sheffield United’s two, through their opening 23 fixtures.
A second stalemate of the season between these teams is priced at 12/5, but Fulham are the 21/17 favourites in the latest odds for this game. The Whites should be confident coming up against the Premier League basement boys on the back of a decent run of form, and they look decent value on Saturday night.
One to watch for Fulham: Josh Maja opened his Fulham account with a match-winning brace against Everton. Signed from Bordeaux in January, the Nigerian forward could prove the catalyst for a stunning Cottagers revival this season. He is 5/1 to open the scoring in this game.
One to watch for Sheffield United: One of Billy Sharp’s five goals this season came in the reverse fixture. The Blades captain has scored four times in his last nine appearances, and is 7/1 to break the deadlock in these Fulham v Sheffield United predictions.
Long shot: Fulham have scored exactly two goals in each of their three victories so far this term. Scott Parker’s side only conceded 10 times in their 12 matches prior to the Burnley game, while Sheffield United have only netted a paltry 15 goals in 24 games all season. A 2-0 home win this weekend is priced at 10/1, rising to 65/1 with Maja scoring first.
