Happy camp they may not be, but a return to winning ways at Getafe is all that’s important for Barcelona ahead of a hectic period for the Catalan giants. Ronald Koeman’s side face four games in 11 days, including the first Clasico of the season against Real Madrid in their next La Liga fixture after this.

Last time: Antoine Griezmann and Sergi Roberto both struck in the first half as Barcelona beat Getafe 2-1 at the Nou Camp back in February.
Getafe v Barcelona Predictions and Preview
Barcelona have a superb record against Getafe over recent years, and with a frantic run of games which includes El Clasico and two Champions League ties – with one away to Juventus – Koeman is widely expected to ring the changes for this match. That could give the hosts a better chance of upsetting the odds and claiming a result.
Getafe have only managed to avoid defeat on three occasions in their last 17 matches against Barca though, courtesy of three draws, while their last victory over the Blaugrana was back in 2011. Getafe have lost eight of the last nine meetings between the sides, conceding 24 goals in that period, and scoring only three themselves.
Jose Bordalas’s side have made a decent start to the new season, however, only losing one of their opening four matches. That was away to Real Sociedad in their last match before the international break. Getafe lost that one 3-0, having kept three clean sheets to open the campaign in beating Osasuna and Real Betis, and drawing with Alaves.

Barcelona to win 3-0
Barcelona to win to nil
Griezmann to score first and Barca to win 3-0
Despite their struggles, though, Barcelona are an entirely different prospect to those teams. The Catalans did drop points for the first time this season in their last game, drawing 1-1 at home to Sevilla, but they scored seven goals and conceded none in their first two fixtures against Villarreal and Celta Vigo.
Lionel Messi appears to be onside, for now at least, and that’s far more important to Barcelona than Koeman’s unsuccessful attempts to bring in reinforcements of Memphis Depay’s quality over the summer transfer window. That said, the Argentine could be rested here after featuring for his country in Bolivia, while a number of other big names face a late return to Catalonia following their international exertions.
Even so, Barca are the clear favourites to extend their excellent record against their hosts on Saturday night. The visitors are 13/17 for the victory in your Getafe v Barcelona predictions, while you can back the home team at 4/1 with William Hill. The draw in this game is priced at 14/5.
One to watch for Getafe: Veteran striker Angel has made a strong start to the season, netting two goals in four games so far. His first-half brace in Getafe’s victory over Betis in their last home game included the opening goal, and he’s 15/2 to strike first again in this one.
One to watch for Barcelona: It’s now or never for Ousmane Dembele at Barcelona. The French winger was close to leaving the club in the summer and with his contract ending in 2022, his value’s decreasing. Koeman could give him a chance this weekend amid an expected raft of changes, and he’s 7/1 to reward a potential show of faith with the opening goal.
Long shot: Barcelona have scored 24 goals in their last eight victories over Getafe, at an average of exactly three per game. Getafe have only scored three times in those matches, while they lost 3-0 in their last match and Barca won 3-0 the last time they played away. A 3-0 Barcelona victory this weekend is priced at 12/1, rising to 90/1 with Griezmann scoring first against Getafe once again.
