Granada v Barcelona Predictions and Preview
Following a nightmarish start to life in the Barcelona dugout, Ronald Koeman is beginning to build something at the Nou Camp. The Catalan giants come into this game against Granada on a good run, but having lost at Los Carmenes last season.
Barca were unbeaten in six prior to Wednesday’s trip to Athletic Bilbao, winning four. The Blaugrana kept a clean sheet in three of those four wins, with their two draws both coming on home soil. Koeman may be happy to be on the road here then, although Granada were 2-0 winners in last season’s corresponding fixture.
Messi came on as a half-time substitute in that game with Barcelona trailing 1-0, but was unable to rescue his team on that occasion. It’s a good job the Argentine has regained his fitness after an injury over the festive period though, making his return in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Huesca.

Barcelona to win to nil
Barcelona to win 1-0
Messi to score first
Barca’s No.10 has scored 12 goals in 12 games against Osasuna during his career, with Barca winning 12 of the 14 meetings between the clubs since 2011. The Catalans have scored 36 goals across those 12 victories, with an over 3.5 goals bet in these Granada v Barcelona predictions priced at 14/9.
If you’re more interested in the outright market, you can back the visitors at 29/50 for the win. Granada are available at 26/5, as they bid to repeat last season’s success against the then-champions. Barcelona are undoubtedly a different proposition this term, only holding a four-point lead over Granada after 16 games.
El Grana are having a great campaign up in the European mix once again, having qualified for the Europa League last season. Los Rojiblancos have lost two of their last three though, against Real Madrid and Eibar, winning the other against Valencia. A draw would still be a decent result for the hosts here, and is priced at 15/4.
One to watch for Granada: Roberto Soldado has scored three goals so far this season, including a brace in December’s 2-0 victory over Real Betis. The former Tottenham striker is 23/2 to break the deadlock in these Granada v Barcelona predictions.
One to watch for Barcelona: Lionel Messi can’t stay out of the headlines at the moment, but the Argentine will want to keep his name in the papers for his talent on the pitch rather than the politics of where he’s going to play next season. He is the 16/5 favourite to open the scoring.
Long shot: Barcelona have averaged 2.9 goals per game scored and 0.5 conceded across their last eight games against Granada. The Blaugrana have won seven of those matches, with a 3-0 away win 12/1 in your Granada v Barcelona tips. With Messi scoring first, those odds rise to 47/1.
