Inter vs. Atalanta Predictions and Preview
Inter were boosted by the return of Mauro Icardi in the 4-0 victory against Genoa. The former skipper’s off field issues have been well documented and his first appearance in two months was capped with a goal.
Remarkably, the Nerazzurri find themselves in third spot, despite their poor form in 2019 and they hold a four point cushion over Gennaro Gattuso’s Rossoneri. Icardi is 7/2 to open the scoring and there is no better way for the Argentine to win back the support of the supporters than securing Champions League participation for the 2019-20 campaign.
The recent triumph was an extremely positive showing for Luciano Spalletti’s men and the tactician will be delighted with Roberto Gagliardini. The midfielder has struggled for game time this year but repaid his manager’s faith with a brace and should be a regular between now and the end of the current term. Gagliardini is 6/1 to strike anytime during the clash while Inter are 5/4 to clinch all three points.
Visitors Atalanta will hold no fear when they make the trip to Giuseppe Meazza. La Dea dumped Juventus out of the Coppa Italia and only the Bianconeri have scored more than Gian Piero Gasperini’s group. Duvan Zapata, who is rumoured to be in line to replace Icardi if the South American leaves Inter in the summer, is one short of 20 league goals.
One to watch for Inter: Ivan Perisic has not recorded the numbers of 2017-18 but is still a real threat. The Croatian struck against Genoa and is 11/5 in the anytime scorer betting.
One to watch for Atalanta: Gomez has 15 goal involvements to his name and will play in a slightly withdrawn role behind Zapata. The skipper is 11/4 in the same anytime market.
Long shot: Atalanta have been involved in a whopping 100 goals from 29 league games and this pattern is likely to continue against the home side. La Dea possess one of the divisions deadliest strikers, but, equally, are prone to lapses defensively. A thrilling 3-3 outcome is 53/1.
