Inter vs. Bologna, Serie A

The games are coming thick and fast in Serie A as Inter host mid-table Bologna. The Nerazzurri effectively need to win three more matches than Juventus to scoop the Scudetto, and with just nine Matchdays remaining, it is looking a tall order for Antonio Conte’s talented, but inconsistent squad.

Inter vs. Bologna Predictions and Preview

Inter put six past doomed Brescia in midweek. Conte gave top scorer Lukaku a breather as Alexis Sanchez was handed a rare chance to impress. Christian Eriksen was also on the substitutes bench with Borja Valero deputising.

Sanchez has yet to convince the former Chelsea boss to make his move permanent from parent club Manchester United but the Chilean’s performance will have impressed the Italian. The attacker created two goals and also netted a penalty in a promising showing.

The two-time Copa America winner is expected to make way for Lukaku but will get plenty of game time between now and the culmination of the campaign. Sanchez is 7/4 to score anytime.

First choice pairing Lautaro Martinez and Lukaku have 40 goals and seven assists between them in all competitions. Martinez continues to be linked with a big money move to Barcelona but Inter will not let the Argentine leave unless the Catalans pay the full asking price.

In the meantime, the diminutive attacker is 4/1 to open proceedings, while his partner is 11/4 favourite. Inter are 4/9 to earn all three points and need to be near perfect in their final nine fixtures.

Elsewhere, Bologna are not out of the European picture despite their current position. Tactician Sinisa Mihajlovic has two extremely gifted attackers at his disposal in Riccardo Orsolini and Musa Barrow and both will line-up either side of former Inter ace Rodrigo Palacio.

Orsolini leads the way with 8 goals and possesses a unique talent in the Italian setup. With the exception of Federico Chiesa, who has largely played through the middle this year, his compatriot is an out and out wide man and would have been capped at senior level were it not for the halt in play.

Orsolini is 15/4 to register anytime while the Rossoblu are 6/1 to clinch the spoils. A tie is 16/5.

One to watch for Inter: Antonio Candreva still has plenty to offer despite Achraf Hakimi’s imminent arrival and the veteran is 11/5 to score anytime. The wing-back has 12 goal contributions to his name and his versatility will ensure he gets good minutes next term.

One to watch for Parma: Barrow has only been at the club since the winter but only Orsolini and Palacio have netted more for the Rossoblu. The speedy Gambian is an enticing 10/1 to hit the final effort of the contest.

Long shot: The four matches Inter have played post lockdown have been a microcosm of their year to date. Conte’s talented group demolished Brescia, but uncharacteristically threw away a winning advantage twice in the space of just eight minutes against Sassuolo. Astonishingly, Bologna have not kept a clean sheet since late September and the Milan giants will get their chances. A 3-0 home success is 12/1.
