Champions League hopefuls Inter face crisis hit Bologna in the latest round of Serie A action. The Nerazzurri have a six-point cushion over fifth place Roma but this lead could soon disappear if Luciano Spalletti’s men continue to stutter. Inter vs. Bologna Predictions and Preview

Hosts Inter seek a first league triumph of 2019 as the chasing pack begin to gather pace. With just four wins from their last ten fixtures, the speculation surrounding the future of Spalletti is intensifying, particularly with Antonio Conte rumoured to be waiting in the wings. The former Lupi boss omitted Perisic from the Toro line-up after the Croatian made it known he would like to leave the club and join Arsenal. Perisic has had a poor campaign by his own very high standards but is still a fine player, and Inter have a decision to make with the transfer window drawing to a close.

Further forward, talisman Mauro Icardi could do with a goal. The skipper has a very respectable nine efforts from 18 appearances, an average most strikers would be delighted with, but the South American is seven adrift of leading marksman Fabio Quagliarella in the goal standings. Nevertheless, Icardi is the clear 5/6 favourite to open proceedings and should get plenty of opportunities against a struggling Bologna squad.

The visitors are in complete disarray but will hope the recent managerial change can lift them out of the bottom three. Milan legend Pippo Inzaghi received his marching orders on Monday and was replaced by Sinisa Mihajlovic who is a familiar face for the natives. The Serbian of course managed Bologna in 2008 and will take his place in the dugout against the club he enjoyed much playing success with. The Rossoblu are 12/1 to pick up a huge three points and 17/4 to earn a draw.

Latest Form

One to watch for Inter: Nainggolan has underwhelmed since his summer arrival from Roma and needs to start putting in performances befitting of his ability. The Belgian is priced at 5/2 in the anytime scorer market.

One to watch for Bologna: Former Nerazzurro Rodrigo Palacio continues to perform to a good level despite his advancing years. The Argentine will act as a link between midfield and attack and is 14/1 to net anytime during the encounter.

Long shot: Bologna have drawn almost half of their games this term, a tally only amassed by three other clubs, all in far superior positions in the table. With Palacio, Mattia Destro, Diego Falcinelli and Federico Santander at Mihajlovic’s disposal, the Rossoblu should have enough to survive, and a victory against Inter would be the perfect start to the new reign. A 3-1 result is a monstrous 175/1.
