Inter vs. Cagliari Predictions and Preview
Inter now trail Juventus by four points after failing to get the better of relegation candidates Lecce in the previous gameweek. The Nerazzurri will be without Marcelo Brozovic after the Croatian sprained his ankle last weekend and the midfielder is likely to be replaced by Borja Valero.
The hosts have been linked to a number of players in the winter window with Christian Eriksen and Olivier Giroud reportedly key targets and any move for the Dane may now be accelerated if Brozovic is out for a prolonged period of time.
Conte will task star forwards Lukaku and Martinez with guiding Inter to glory. The duo have notched a whopping 31 goals between them in all competitions and there are few better striking combinations in Europe. The former Manchester United ace is 5/2 to open proceedings and 4/1 to hit a brace, while the Argentine is 7/2 to score first.
Loanee Alexis Sanchez should get another run out after the break as the Chilean continues to build up match fitness. The forward is 2/1 to register anytime as he bids to impress Conte and secure a permanent transfer to the Milan giants. Inter are 7/4 to record their 15th domestic triumph of the term.
Nerazzurri owned Radja Nainggolan will feature for Cagliari alongside Joao Pedro, in support of Giovanni Simeone. Joao Pedro has 13 goals to his name, and has already equalled his best ever return for the Rossoblu with 18 matches to spare. The Brazilian is 10/3 to bag anytime and the Sardinians are 16/1 to chalk up a win. The draw is 6/1.
One to watch for Inter: Stefano Sensi was in outstanding form before suffering injury in October which kept him out for the best part of two months. In a real boost for Conte, the talented midfielder is now back in the fold and is 11/1 to score last.
One to watch for Cagliari: Simeone has seven goal involvements to his name and has performed well as the spearhead for the team and foil for Joao Pedro. The South American is 11/4 to net anytime.
Long shot: Inter will still be smarting from their inability to break down Lecce for a match winner and Cagliari could be the recipients of the fallout. The Nerazzurri attack were uncharacteristically blunt and it is unlikely Lukaku and Martinez will both have another off day. A 3-0 scoreline in favour of the home squad is 15/2.
