Inter Milan steadily reeled in local rivals AC Milan in the weeks before Christmas, and the Nerazzurri are looking to overhaul their fellow San Siro outfit as Serie A returns in the new year from its brief winter break. Crotone are the visitors to this famous old ground in Sunday’s early kick-off.

Inter v Crotone Predictions and Preview
This will be just the fifth ever Serie A meeting between these two clubs, with Crotone returning to the Italian top flight this season following their previous sole stint between 2016 and 2018. Inter won two of the four meetings across those two campaigns, with Crotone managing a famous victory of their own in April 2017.
Inter are a different proposition this season compared to most of the past decade though. The Nerazzurri are right in the thick of the title picture as we approach the halfway stage of the season. One point behind neighbours Milan, they are nine points ahead of a struggling Juventus side, albeit having played a game more than the defending champions.
This could finally be the season where Juve’s monopoly of the scudetto is ended. If Inter are to be the team who break the Old Lady’s spell, they quite simply have to win games like this. Crotone spent Christmas in the Serie A relegation zone, following just two wins from their opening 14 fixtures of the campaign.

Inter to win to nil
Inter to win 3-0
Lukaku to score first
The Rossoblu have only recorded two victories all season, although they did both come in Crotone’s last four games of 2020. Giovanni Stroppa’s side have only lost one of those last four, following a run of eight defeats and two draws in their first 10 Serie A fixtures.
However, there’s no doubt the away team are the overwhelming underdogs in this Inter v Crotone preview. They are out at 16/1 for the win. That could be enough to lift them out of the bottom three, depending on how Genoa and Spezia get on.
That appears highly unlikely though, with Inter best priced at 1/4 to take the points. Even a draw would be a massive shock, considering Inter have won each of their last seven league games. If you think that run’s going to come to an end with a stalemate here, you can get odds of 6/1.
One to watch for Inter: Romelu Lukaku has helped himself to 11 goals in his first 13 Serie A appearances so far this season, and the Belgian is the 12/5 favourite to open the scoring in these Inter v Crotone predictions.
One to watch for Crotone: Junior Messias could aptly turn out to be Crotone’s messiah this season. Four of the Brazilian’s five league goals this season have come in his last four games, and he is 20/1 in the first scorer odds for this game.
Long shot: Crotone took home a point the last time they played Inter at the San Siro, but the Nerazzurri were 3-0 winners the season before. Another 3-0 victory for Inter this weekend is priced at 15/2, rising to 28/1 with Lukaku scoring first.
