Inter v Genoa Predictions and Preview
After 21 months of battling the press, criticising refereeing decisions and bemoaning his own board, Conte is finally content in the Nerazzurri dugout. The former Premier League and Serie A winning coach comprehensively outsmarted compatriot Stefano Pioli in the Derby della Madonnina and, barring a marked upturn in form from Juventus, Inter will lift the Scudetto in May.
Central to the frontrunners’ hopes is Lukaku. It is no secret Conte tried to sign the hotshot during his time at Chelsea and the £75m investment in the recruit from Manchester United has been money well spent. Lukaku’s stunning exploits have not gone unnoticed and there have been reports both PSG and Manchester City are keen on his services.
|Our Eurotips||Odds||Free bets||Bookie|
|Inter to win 3-1||10/1||Offer|
|Nicolò Barella to score anytime||7/2||Offer|
|Over 3.5 goals||5/4||Offer|
Despite the flattering interest, Lukaku is happy and settled in Milan and his admiration for Conte is well documented. The Nerazzurri ace has often been criticised for going missing in the bigger matches but was instrumental in the showdown with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and merits the praise he has received.
The Belgian is 9/4 to open proceedings, while partner Lautaro Martinez can be found at 10/3. The Argentine hit a brace in the derby and in more good news for the club, is close to penning a new deal. In favour Christian Eriksen and Ivan Perisic are 7/5 and 7/4, respectively, to notch anytime, and Inter are 2/11 to emerge triumphant.
Elsewhere, Genoa sit in 11th. Davide Ballardini will task Mattia Destro with troubling the Nerazzurri backline and the striker has struck on nine occasions this term. The well-travelled Azzurri international has been capped eight times by his country and is firmly in contention for a place in Roberto Mancini’s 23 for this summer’s European Championship. Destro is 4/1 to register anytime and Eldor Shomurodov is 11/2. The Grifone are 18/1 to spring a shock and a stalemate is 13/2.
One to watch for Inter: Achraf Hakimi has 11 goal involvements from wing-back and there is still much surprise Zinedine Zidane allowed the flying Moroccan to leave. The right footer is 11/4 to bag anytime.
One to watch for Genoa: Gianluca Scamacca was close to joining the Bianconeri in January and there are big hopes for the giant forward after impressing on loan at Luigi Ferraris. The Roman is 13/2 in the same market.
Long shot: The Grifone have gone from relegation certainties to midtable hopefuls since Ballardini’s arrival, but the tactician is likely to prioritise the contests against Udinese and Parma over the next fortnight with some personnel changes this weekend. A dominant 5-0 victory for the hosts is 21/1.
