Inter vs. Juventus Predictions and Preview
Home side Inter appear to have turned a corner. The Nerazzurri should have enough to stave off the threat of the chasing pack and need a maximum of four wins to be assured of a Champions League berth. Luciano Spalletti will call upon the services of Mauro Icardi in what could be one of the Argentine’s last showings in a blue and black shirt.
Icardi is no closer to signing a new deal but his quality cannot be disputed. The South American is 15/4 to break the deadlock while the Nerazzurri are 11/8 to get the better of their opponents on the night.
Juventus sealed their historic feat in style, beating bitter rivals Fiorentina 2-1 in their last fixture. Max Allegri went with Cristiano Ronaldo as the lone striker with Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala absent and the Portuguese superstar will be eager to claim further glory before now and the end of the season. Ronaldo currently trails leading marksman Fabio Quagliarella by three efforts in the goalscorer standings and is the obvious name to consider in the first scorer betting.
The ex-Real Madrid man is 7/2 to open proceedings and 8/1 to hit two or more. Young colleague Moise Kean is another name to consider after a superb 2019. The full Italy international was an able deputy for Ronaldo, Dybala and Mandzukic during their respective spells out and will feature after the break, at the very least. Kean is 12/5 in the anytime scorer market and offers Juventus a different dimension upfront. The Bianconeri are 2/1 to emerge triumphant.
One to watch for Inter: Ivan Perisic has three goals from his last four games and is back to his best, crucially, at the business end of the year. The Croatian is 7/1 to net last.
One to watch for Juventus: Emre Can is enjoying a good run in the side and is 18/1 in the same market. The former Liverpool midfielder will have licence to attack with Miralem Pjanic and Blaise Matuidi operating more defensively.
Long shot: Inter may have lost three of the last four meetings between the clubs, but pose a real threat to Juventus. The Nerazzurri were on course for all three points in April 2018 before conceding twice in the closing stages, losing 3-2 in the process. A reverse of this outcome in favour of Inter is 33/1.
