Inter v Milan Predictions and Preview
Inter eventually broke the resolve of Udinese last weekend courtesy of Lukaku. The Belgian netted halfway through the second-half before adding to his total late on.
The former Manchester United striker has 18 goals in all competitions and will relish the new supply line provided by Christian Eriksen and wide men Ashley Young and Victor Moses.
Lukaku is 10/3 to register first and is expected to be partnered by fellow ex-Red Devil Alexis Sanchez in the absence of Lautaro Martinez who is serving the second of a two-match ban.
Sanchez, who has struggled with injury during his time in Italy, is in a race against time to convince Conte to make his temporary move a permanent one in the summer and a contribution this weekend is needed. The Chilean is 5/2 to score anytime and the Nerazzurri are 10/11 to earn victory.
Milan have improved since the turn of the year and are back in contention for a European spot. The Rossoneri missed talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the stalemate with Verona but the Swede is likely to be back in the team, even if he is not 100% fit after recent illness.
Leao will start centrally but is equally adept out wide and alongside Ibrahimovic and Ante Rebic, the trio will keep Inter’s back three busy throughout. The Rossoneri are 3/1 to claim glory and 12/5 to earn a draw.
One to watch for Inter: 6 months after expressing his wish to leave Tottenham Hotspur for a new challenge, Eriksen finally got his move in January and the Dane is 3/1 to score on his full home debut.
One to watch for Milan: Rebic has three from his last four appearances and has been one of the main beneficiaries of Ibrahimovic’s return to the club. The Croatian is 17/2 to net last.
Long shot: Milan’s last success in this fixture dates back to January 2016 in a convincing 3-0 win. On this occasion, the Rossoneri will indeed offer a threat going forward but there are still questions marks over the rearguard. In contrast, Inter are formidable in both areas of the pitch and quite rightly start as favourites. A 3-2 scoreline in favour of the Nerazzurri is 28/1.
