Inter v Parma Predictions and Preview
Inter were involved in a seven-goal thriller in Emilia-Romagna when they visited Sassuolo. The Nerazzurri came out of top courtesy of braces from forwards Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.
Pleasingly for Antonio Conte, the duo have instantly forged a telepathic partnership, banishing any memories of former captain and talisman Mauro Icardi. Martinez, in particular, has taken his chance and has four efforts from eight league appearances, two short of his final haul from the previous campaign.
The Argentine’s fine form has not gone unnoticed on the continent, with Barcelona rumoured to be big admirers of the 22-year-old. Inter have since begun discussions of a new contract for the forward, with a view to increasing his €112 release clause in the process.
The red hot South American is 10/11 to net anytime in a contest he is sure to start and finish, barring injury. Lukaku, who has five Nerazzurri goals to his name, is 10/3 to open proceedings. The hosts are 2/7 to claim an eighth league triumph from nine matches.
Elsewhere, Parma have recorded maximum points from three of their last four fixtures. The visitors thumped lowly Genoa 5-1 on home soil, with Andreas Cornelius bagging a hat-trick.
The Dane came off the bench before the break to replace the injured Roberto Inglese and is 3/1 to continue his good recent run through on goal and net anytime. The Crociati are 11/1 to topple Inter and 17/4 to earn a draw. Parma are a whopping 55/1 to win both halves of action.
One to watch for Inter: Antonio Candreva is a firm favourite of Conte due to his tireless work ethic, but the Italian also offers a real threat going forward, as witnessed by his goal of the season contender against Lecce. The wing-back is 7/4 to register anytime.
One to watch for Parma: Gervinho tends to raise his game for the big occasion and has an impressive six goal contributions from nine matches in all competitions. The Ivorian speedster is 10/1 to score last.
Long shot: Inter have the best goal difference in the country, but were uncharacteristically leaky in the previous matchup with the Neroverdi, which will give confidence to Parma who have hit 13 goals in the league. A pulsating 3-2 scoreline in favour of Conte’s troops is available at 25/1.
