Juventus vs. Empoli Predictions and Preview
Juventus are just six wins away from claiming yet another league title. The Bianconeri remain on track to topple the 100-point barrier despite suffering a 2-0 defeat against Genoa in the previous gameweek. Max Allegri will be without the services of talisman and top scorer Ronaldo after the Portuguese skipper sustained a thigh injury on international duty.
The number seven is also expected to miss out on the fixtures against Cagliari and Milan with a view to being fully recuperated for the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Ajax.
Paulo Dybala and Moise Kean are the likely deputies, with the young Italian perhaps edging out the Argentine. Kean has enjoyed the best month of his fledgling career, scoring twice on a rare start against Udinese and making his presence felt against Atletico Madrid. Furthermore, the striker was thrusted in to the limelight by national boss Roberto Mancini and seized his opportunity in fine fashion.
Kean netted against both Finland and Liechtenstein and would merit another start for his club side. The 19-year-old is 4/1 to open proceedings and 6/4 in the anytime market. Juventus are 3/10 to get back to winning ways.
Meanwhile, lowly Empoli are perilously close to the bottom three. Crucially, the Blues do pose a threat going forward and Caputo haul of 16 goal contributions is only bettered by a handful of players in the division. The striker is 15/2 to register first while Empoli are 10/1 to clinch victory and 4/1 to earn a useful draw.
One to watch for Juventus: Federico Bernardeschi is enjoying regular playing time for both club and country and is 2/1 in the anytime market. The versatile forward is full of confidence after his performance against Atletico Madrid.
One to watch for Empoli: Rade Krunic will support Caputo and has an eye for goal. The Bosnian midfielder is attractively priced at 17/2 to score anytime.
Long shot: Even in Ronaldo’s absence, Allegri has a stellar cast to call upon with Mario Mandzukic, Dybala, Kean, Bernardeschi and Douglas Costa all capable in their own right. A comprehensive 4-0 success for the home side is priced at 16/1.
