Juventus vs. Milan Predictions and Preview
Juventus made it 26 league victories from 30 played in midweek. The Bianconeri came away with all three points during their trip to Sardinia and the result was all the more impressive given the shortage of personnel at Allegri’s disposal. The tactician was without Ronaldo, Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala, Douglas Costa and a host of other stars but Leonardo Bonucci and Moise Kean were the difference makers against Cagliari.
Kean is thriving in the absence of his more experienced striking colleagues and is likely to feature once more. The 19-year-old is 15/4 to hit the final effort of the contest while Juventus are 8/11 to topple the opposition.
Visitors Milan failed to get back to winning ways after recent defeats against Inter and Sampdoria. The Rossoneri were frustratingly held to a 1-1 draw against Udinese with Krzysztof Piatek netting and the Pole is now just a solitary effort from leading marksman Fabio Quagliarella who a tally of 21 strikes.
Gattuso sprung a surprise with his line-up, opting to field Lucas Paqueta in a two behind Piatek and youngster Patrick Cutrone, who has seen his game time cut short following the winter arrival of the former Genoa hitman.
The forwards linked up to desired effect with Cutrone setting up his partner, and the Italy international’s performance will give Gattuso food for thought ahead of the mouthwatering clash on Saturday.
Piatek is 7/2 to open the scoring and continue his wonderful personal form since joining the club in January while Milan are 4/1 to clinch victory and 12/5 to earn a share of the spoils. Both teams to score is predictably attracting attention given the talent on display and this is 21/20.
One to watch for Juventus: Alex Sandro played in a more advanced role in the clash with Cagliari and may feature in a similar position with regular wingers Costa, Juan Cuadrado and Ronaldo all out for various reasons. The Brazilian is an appealing 10/1 to register anytime during the duel.
One to watch for Milan: Suso is 5/1 in the same market and should come back in to the line-up with Paqueta a doubt. The diminutive Spaniard has an impressive 13 goal contributions from 27 domestic appearances.
Long shot: Milan have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last four matches and the onus will be on Piatek to influence proceedings if this pattern continues. An 2-2 outcome is priced at 16/1 in what is a historically exciting contest.
