Juventus v Sassuolo Predictions and Preview

Juventus come into this game looking for their sixth successive win against Sassuolo, having put 10 goals past the Neroverdi in their two meetings last season. As well as Higuain’s hat-trick in Turin, Paulo Dybala also scored a treble in the corresponding fixture earlier in the campaign, which the Old Lady won 3-1.

Speaking of hat-tricks, Juve now have a player who boasts over 50 of them in his spectacular career. Cristiano Ronaldo is still looking for his first goal in Serie A though, and this game should give him as good a chance as any to get off the mark.

Sassuolo have made a decent start to the season, beating Inter Milan on the opening weekend before claiming a 2-2 draw at Cagliari. Roberto De Zerbi’s side picked up their second victory of the campaign in a lively game against Genoa, which finished 5-3 to the Neroverdi.

They’ll do well to score any against Juve on Sunday though, with the home team massive favourites for the win. They are 2/9 to keep up their winning streak, with Sassuolo 16/1 to record their first ever away win at Juventus.

The visitors might be hoping that a few of Juve’s players have a little fatigue in their legs after the international break, but Leonardo Spinazzola is Max Allegri’s only injury concern. De Zerbi, meanwhile, has no injuries or suspensions to contend with, so there’s a ray of hope there.

Even so, the Sassuolo boss would be over the moon to get a draw at the Juventus Stadium, and that’s priced at 63/10. It’s probably one to avoid though, with a Juventus win and both teams to score wager looking much more attractive at 7/4.

One to watch for Juventus: It’s not a big surprise that Cristiano Ronaldo is taking a bit of time to adjust to a new league, but this could be the weekend where he finally opens his Serie A account. The Portuguese is 12/5 for the first goal on Sunday.

One to watch for Sassuolo: Kevin-Prince Boateng has scored in Sassuolo’s last two games, including his team’s first goal against Genoa and a 99th-minute penalty to rescue a point at Cagliari. He is 16/1 to break the deadlock in this one.

Long shot: Juventus are 150/1 to beat Sassuolo 7-0 for the second time in a row. However, the visitors look in decent shape at the moment, so there’s probably more chance of a third 3-1 victory in five games for the Old Lady against the Neroverdi, and that’s priced at 11/1.
