Juventus v SPAL Predictions and Preview
It was another underwhelming victory for Juventus on Tuesday, who came from behind for the second game in a row to claim all three points against Brescia. The Bianconeri trailed early on after Alfredo Donnarumma sent to natives in to raptures before Miralem Pjanic completed the fightback.
The champions were missing star man Cristiano Ronaldo who was carrying a slight knock, giving Paulo Dybala a rare opportunity from the opening whistle. The Argentine linked up with compatriot Gonzalo Higuain in attack and both flattered to deceive. Ronaldo is expected to return for the visit of SPAL and is 21/20 to open proceedings.
Fresh from opening his account for the club, Aaron Ramsey is in line for another runout. The Welshman played in a three-man midfield against Hellas Verona and at the tip of the diamond against Brescia.
The ex-Arsenal fan favourite was one of the better performers against Mario Balotelli’s new side and is 7/2 to net anytime. Maurizio Sarri’s men are 2/7 to emerge victorious and 29/10 to be leading with 15 minutes on the clock.
Travelling SPAL were dealt another blow in midweek. The Biancazzurri went up against fellow strugglers Lecce and it was the promoted club that came out on top.
Leonardo Semplici’s dejected troops lost 3-1 and need to take something from this weekend’s encounter, particularly with duels against Cagliari, Napoli and Milan coming up. Andrea Petagna will lead the line and is 11/4 to net anytime. SPAL are 12/1 to pull off a shock victory and 17/4 to earn a precious point.
One to watch for Juventus: With Alex Sandro, Mattia De Sciglio and Danilo all unavailable, Juan Cuadrado may be called upon at full-back. The winger by trade will still get forward and is 7/2 to score anytime.
One to watch for SPAL: Federico Di Francesco has a very credible two goals from five appearances and is attractively priced at 18/1 to hit the final effort of the tie.
Long shot: SPAL have proved dogged opponents for Juventus over the last 18 months, taking four points from three meetings. However, with Ronaldo returning to the fold, up against a leaky rearguard, it is likely to be a long afternoon for the Biancazzurri. A 4-0 success for the Bianconeri is 11/1.
