Juventus vs. Torino Predictions and Preview
Juventus recovered from an early setback to earn a share of the spoils in the encounter with Inter. Radja Nainggolan’s stunner gave the hosts the lead in a typically tempestuous match both on the pitch and in the terraces.
The natives took great pleasure in mocking their rivals’ failed attempt to win this year’s Champions League and were on course for all three points until Ronaldo saved the day.
Ronaldo is three short of Fabio Quagliarella’s tally of 23 and won’t have given up on securing this term’s golden boot in his maiden campaign in Italy. Ronaldo is 11/4 to score first and 3/1 to net two or more. The Real Madrid record scorer could be partnered by the prodigious Moise Kean and the youngster certainly deserves game time after a breakthrough 2019. Kean is 5/2 to strike anytime while the Bianconeri are 4/6 to chalk up the win.
Neighbours Torino are full of confidence. The Granata sit in sixth, just two points adrift of Roma in fourth after comprehensively beating Milan 2-0. The result saw Walter Mazzarri’s side leapfrog Gennaro Gattuso’s Rossoneri in the table after recording yet another clean sheet. The shutout was Toro’s ninth of the calendar year and Salvatore Sirigu’s 15th of the year, four more than opposite number Wojciech Szczęsny.
Coupled with their astonishing defensive solidity, Andrea Belotti is now back to his best and Torino will have no fear when they make the short trip across town. The visitors are 4/1 to emerge triumphant and 11/4 to pick up a point.
One to watch for Juventus: Leonardo Spinazzola is expected to start and will have licence to get forward with Blaise Matuidi ably stepping in. The marauding full-back is 17/2 in the anytime scorer betting.
One to watch for Torino: Belotti is 4/1 to open proceedings and add to his haul of 13 for the season. The Italian has good memories in this fixture and does tend to trouble the Juventus rearguard.
Long shot: Toro have only conceded three efforts from their last six games and it will take something special for Juventus to break through Mazzarri’s impressive backline. However, on Derby Day, form tends to go out of the window and a 3-0 success and bragging rights for the hosts is 11/1.
