Juventus vs. Udinese Serie A Betting Tips and Preview

Juventus vs. Udinese, Serie A

Fresh from their first Serie A defeat of the campaign, Juventus look to bounce back against a blunt Udinese side. Alongside Premier League leaders Liverpool, the Bianconeri still had their unbeaten domestic record intact, until Lazio toppled them 3-1 in the previous gameweek. Meanwhile, the visiting Zebrette have failed to win any of their last four matches.

Juventus v Udinese Predictions and Preview

Liverpool are now the only club in Europe not to taste defeat after Juventus’ loss in the capital. The Bianconeri took the lead against Lazio through star man Cristiano Ronaldo but were left deflated as the Biancocelesti equalised right on the stroke of half-time.

Luiz Felipe’s header indeed proved significant and it was Simone Inzaghi’s men, who currently boast the best form in the country, who ran out comprehensive – and deserved winners at the final whistle.

Maurizio Sarri cited Juan Cuadrado’s dismissal as a turning point, but Lazio were comfortably the better side, creating wave after wave of attack, and it could have been even worse if Ciro Immobile had converted his spot-kick.

The ex-Chelsea boss was visibly irate at full-time and may ring the changes for the visit of Udinese. Aaron Ramsey has had a stop start season since arriving on a free-transfer from Arsenal but could come in at the expense of Federico Bernardeschi.

Sarri has persisted with the Italian in an unfamiliar playmaker role and the former Fiorentina ace has toiled. Ramsey, adept in a midfield two or three, or in the hole off the forwards, is 7/4 to net anytime, and may just be the solution to a problem position for the Bianconeri.

Ronaldo is 2/1 to open proceedings and 13/2 to hit a treble. Juventus are overwhelming 1/4 favourites for the clash.

Travelling party Udinese picked up a point against Napoli in their last match. Despite the spirited performance, caretaker Luca Gotti must solve his side’s issues through on goal if they are to avoid a relegation battle.

The Zebrette have only netted on 10 occasions, in contrast, Atalanta have a haul of 37, and more is expected of Stefano Okaka, Lasagna and Rodrigo de Paul. Udinese are 11/1 to pull off a shock win and 9/2 to pick up a point.

One to watch for Juventus: Sarri has resisted starting Gonzalo Higuain, Paulo Dybala and Ronaldo as a trio, but injuries and form may force his hand. Dybala is 8/11 to register anytime.

One to watch for Udinese: With 17 goal contributions, De Paul almost singlehandedly kept the Zebrette in Italy’s top flight last season and was strongly linked to Inter in the summer. The Argentine may yet get his move in the winter window and is 12/1 to bag last.

Long shot: It has been more than four years since the Zebrette last beat Juventus and Udinese are unlikely to catch the Bianconeri napping this weekend. The champions are wounded, and not accustomed to chasing top spot with Inter flying high. A 4-0 home win is 16/1.
