Lazio v Bologna Predictions and Preview
No side has collected more points in Italy’s top flight since October than Lazio. The high-flying Aquile are going in search of a whopping 16th win from the last 18 and this extraordinary sequence of results has catapulted them firmly in to the Scudetto race.
What was billed as a two-horse race between champions Juventus and Inter is no longer, and Inzaghi’s men are the real deal. The hosts did well in the previous game-week, collecting all three points away from home against a revived Genoa squad.
The clash was well maneuvered by Lazio and each of their 13 remaining matches will be treated as cup finals as they bid to win a first championship since 2000.
Next up is Bologna and Inzaghi will go with his tried and tested 3-5-2 setup. Immobile will lead the line and will look to add to his 27 league goals. The hitman is six clear of Cristiano Ronaldo in the standings and is 12/5 favourite to open proceedings and 9/4 to bag a brace.
Elsewhere, Bologna have picked up three victories and a draw from their last five games. The Rossoblu have good energy, particularly in attack with Riccardo Orsolini starring.
The Italian is pushing hard for a place in Roberto Mancini’s final 23 for the EURO’s and on current form, would be deserving. Orsolini is 7/2 to register anytime and add to his 11 goal contributions this term. Bologna are 13/2 to clinch the spoils and 16/5 to earn a draw.
One to watch for Lazio: Sergej Milinković-Savić stole the show in the memorable win over Juventus in December and will almost certainly be in demand this summer. The elegant Serbian is 11/2 to hit the opening effort of the duel.
One to watch for Bologna: Musa Barrow has already netted three times since moving from Atalanta at the turn of the year and has linked up well with Orsolini. The forward is 10/1 to score last.
Long shot: Bologna have beaten Napoli, Atalanta and Roma this season and have also fared well in fixtures with Juventus and Inter. The Rossoblu will believe they can get something from the contest but Lazio are in irresistible form and should have too much for the opposition on the day. A 3-1 success in favour of the Aquile is 11/1.
