Last time: Lazio took a comfortable 2-0 win when the sides met in November. Crotone returned home with a 4-0 defeat when they last went to Lazio, in December 2017, and a 1-0 defeat the time before that – in January of the same year.
Lazio vs. Crotone Tips, Predictions and Preview
Lazio’s form going into this fixture has been little short of disastrous. They’ve won one of their last five in all competitions – a 1-0 victory over Sampdoria in late February – and lost the other four, conceding 12 goals in the process.
In fairness to Simone Inzaghi’s side, they have been dealt a bad hand by the fixture list. Playing Inter, Bayern Munich and Juventus within a matter of weeks would test any team who sit just below the very highest level, but the coach would have hoped for a little better nevertheless. Lazio need talismanic forward Ciro Immobile – 3/5 to score anytime – to inspire again.

Given their dire recent form, though, it might take Lazio some time to get going. They’ve had a run of games where they’ve been forced into the role of underdogs – disappointing away defeat to Bologna aside. Against Inter, Juve and Bayern, Lazio expected to be on the back-foot throughout, and so it proved.
Inzaghi’s side had difficulty in stepping up against Bologna, when the onus was on them to take control of the game. Having an Immobile goal ruled out – and going behind to Ibrahima Mbaye minutes later – didn’t help, and knocked their already fragile confidence even further.

Crotone, meanwhile, gave themselves hope of avoiding relegation with a win over Torino as wily veteran Serse Cosmi returned to the Serie A bench. They are still some seven points from safety and that was just their fourth win of the season after 26 games, so it’s hard to see a miracle down in Calabria. But they’ve got a fighting chance, and won’t roll over here. Indeed, Crotone are 7/1 to get the win and while it feels beyond them, that’s an interesting price, worth considering in the Lazio vs. Crotone tips.
The victory over Torino was well-deserved but does come with something of a caveat as the Granata squad was decimated by coronavirus positives. Crotone still had to rise to the game and did so excellently, and didn’t let giving up the lead impact them too much.
Best Lazio vs. Crotone tips
One to watch for Lazio: Sergej Milinkovic-Savic reached a personal best goals haul of 14 back in 2017-18 but he’s managed only five for his club so far this season. The midfielder is needed to provide attacking support from deep for Immobile and Joaquin Correa, and a few more goals would go a long way towards turning the team’s form around.
One to watch for Crotone: Simy scored twice in Crotone’s win over COVID-hit Torino last time out and that should give the Nigeria international the confidence to threaten again. He’s into double figures for the season, which is no mean feat for a forward playing in a struggling team.
Long shot: There were six goals in Crotone’s win over Torino and Lazio have conceded on average three goals per game in recent outings. Does that point to another goal-fest here? A Lazio 4-2 win is out to 33/1 at William Hill.
