Lazio vs. Inter Predictions and Preview
Both these sides have hit a run of form going into this highly-anticipated clash with both establishing their places in the top four spots.
After losing their opening league games against Napoli and Juventus, Simone Inzaghi’s side have triumphed in six of their following seven games – falling only in a 3-1 derby loss to Roma.
Luciano Spalletti’s side have won each of their last seven games including five league games on a spin after winning just one of their first four.
Lazio are narrow favourites to win this encounter at odds of 11/8 with the Nerazzurri priced at 21/10 and the draw available at 12/5.
These games tend to produce just an average of three goals per game – with 27 going in across the past nine meetings.
With this mine, over 2.5 goals at 3/4 seems to offer good value while more than 3.5 goals at 39/20 also a tempting proposal.
A ‘double chance’ on Inter to come away with either a draw or a win is available at 5/8 while a Lazio win/draw outcome is at 3/7.
If you fancy Inter to be leading at both half-time and at the final whistle, such odds are available at 7/2.
One to watch for Lazio: Ciro Immobile has already hit six goals in nine Serie A appearances this term for Lazio and has now hit 58 top-flight goals in Italy since joining the club in the summer of 2016.
One to watch for Inter: Mauro Icardi netted twice in his side’s recent 2-1 win at SPAL and the late derby winner over Milan and is seeking to replicate his tally of 29 Serie A goals from last term.
Long shot: The meeting between these two in Milan last season ended without goals while Inter currently have the joint second-best defence in the division with just six goals conceded in nine games. Odds of this game to finish scoreless are available at 14/1.
