Leicester City v Liverpool Predictions and Preview
The Foxes suffered only their third defeat of the campaign when they travelled to Pep Guardiola’s title holders. The reigning champions ran out 3-1 winners but did suffer an early scare as Jamie Vardy opened the scoring.
The 32-year-old has been the main beneficiary of Rodgers’ move from Celtic and is the runaway top scorer in the division with 17 strikes. Vardy also has three assists to his name and his form has not gone unnoticed with national boss Gareth Southgate.
The Three Lions tactician is reportedly keen to bring the forward out of international retirement and the Sheffield born ace is arguably the best striker in the league this term.
Vardy has a good record against Liverpool and is 9/2 to strike first. Maddison, who will operate just behind the speedster, is 11/1 in the same market while the hosts are 5/2 to claim all three points. The draw is 13/5.
In the opposing camp, Jurgen Klopp may shuffle the pack after a busy 7 days. The Reds featured in three competitions during this period and the German could bring in Adam Lallana and Milner.
Naby Keita is likely to retain his place and appears to have finally settled on Merseyside. The Guinean has three goals from his last four matches and is 3/1 to register anytime.
Star attackers Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah have a whopping 46 goal contributions between them and the Egyptian is an attractive 7/1 to bag a brace. Liverpool are 21/20 to make it a stunning 17 triumphs from 18 league ties.
One to watch for Leicester City: Alongside Maddison, Youri Tielemans has licence to get forward and support Vardy and the Belgian talent is an appealing 18/1 in the same final scorer market.
One to watch for Liverpool: Firmino has a habit of producing when the Reds need him most and the Club World Cup hero is 6/1 to score last.
Long shot: Liverpool may be odds-on favourites to clinch their first ever Premier League trophy but the Reds do offer chances to the opposition. Klopp’s troops have only kept four clean sheets and have a near identical goals for and against record as the home squad. A 2-1 triumph for the Foxes is 12/1.
