This midweek round of La Liga fixtures sees title-chasing Barcelona visit Levante at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia on Tuesday night. Ronald Koeman’s side need a victory if they’re to see off the challenge of Madrid duo Atletico and Real to win the league.
Where and when: Estadio Ciudad de Valencia – 11 May, kick-off 21:00

Last time: Lionel Messi was the difference between the sides, as the Argentine maestro scored the only goal of the game late on when the teams met at the Nou Camp in December.
Levante v Barcelona Predictions and Preview
There’s little time to digest a huge weekend of La Liga action, following Barcelona’s clash with Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid’s date with Sevilla. Barca must focus on taking three points from Levante here, a team who the Catalan giants have generally enjoyed lots of success against.
Barcelona have won 19 of the 25 meetings between the clubs since Levante were promoted to La Liga in 2004. The Granotes have only tasted victory on two occasions, although one of those was in last season’s corresponding fixture in Valencia. The other was the memorable 5-4 in May 2018, which brought hat-tricks from both Emmanuel Boateng and Philippe Coutinho.
There’s no chance of Coutinho making his mark on this game, with the Brazilian attacker still sidelined through a knee injury. Ansu Fati is out with a similar problem, while fellow forward Martin Braithwaite also misses out. Levante could be without Jose Campana, Nemanja Radoja and Nikola Vukcevic for this tough assignment.
Even with that trio, the home team would still start as the betting underdogs on Tuesday. Paco Lopez’s side may have beaten Barca last season, but they’ve been in poor form of late, losing four games in a row prior to their trip to Alaves at the weekend. Levante have lost six of their last seven, scoring only once in the process, and they are out at 10/1 here.

Barcelona to win 2-1
Over 5.5 goals
The visitors are the 1/4 favourites with William Hill in these Levante v Barcelona predictions, although they’re far from dead certs at present. The Blaugrana lost their 19-game unbeaten record in El Clasico last month, before going down 2-1 at home to Granada a couple of weeks later when presented with the chance to go top of the table.
Even so, Koeman’s side have been in good form on the whole of late. Messi has been superb and netted a match-winning brace in last week’s 3-2 victory away to Valencia, and Barca will hope their talisman produces a similar performance on his return to the city here. A draw could prove disastrous for Barca’s title chances, with that outcome priced at 6/1 in the latest odds for this game.
One to watch for Levante: Roger Marti went seven games without a goal prior to the weekend, following a run of three in four prior to that. The Spanish forward is Levante’s top scorer this season, and 9/4 to add to his tally in the anytime market on Tuesday.
One to watch for Barcelona: Lionel Messi is bearing down on the 40-goal mark once again, and is set to win his eighth Pichichi this season. The Argentine is the 21/10 favourite to open the scoring in these Barcelona v Levante predictions.
Long shot: The last three meetings between these teams at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia have produced 18 goals, at an average of six per game. An over 5.5 goals bet is 4/1 in these Levante v Barcelona tips, with a 4-2 away win priced at 25/1. With Messi scoring first, those odds rise to 80/1.
