The Reds clinched club football’s greatest honour after toppling Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the final, while the Blues thumped Arsenal 4-1 in Baku in what was Maurizio Sarri’s final game in charge of the London club.

Liverpool v Chelsea Predictions and Preview
Liverpool kick started their domestic campaign in predictable fashion, thrashing newcomers Norwich 4-1. Salah got on the scoresheet along with Virgil van Dijk and cult hero Divock Origi after Grant Hanley put through his own net early on.
Salah was a surprise selection given he has only recently returned to full training following and can expect to be joined by Sadio Mane who entered as a second-half sub.
The Senegalese forward netted the most goals from open play in the 2019-20 Premier League campaign and was just as, if not more instrumental than Salah. Mane is 4/1 to open proceedings and his Egyptian colleague is 7/2.
Liverpool are expected to be without Alisson after the stopper sustained a calf injury against the Canaries as the Reds await the full diagnosis. The six-time Champions League winners are 8/11 to claim victory in 90 minutes and 4/11 to lift the trophy.
Opponents Chelsea will be led by Frank Lampard after the club’s all-time leading scorer succeeded Sarri. The Blues legend will of course be without Eden Hazard after the talisman sealed a summer switch to Real Madrid and there will be emphasis on senior heads Willian and Pedro to guide the youngsters Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic.
Pulisic has looked bright in pre-season and is 17/5 to register anytime, while Tammy Abraham is 23/10 in the same market and should start, fresh from receiving the number 9 shirt. The Blues are 7/2 to emerge triumphant in regulation time and 11/5 to clinch silverware.
One to watch for Liverpool: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain missed the majority of the previous term and Jurgen Klopp is expecting big things from the versatile midfielder. The England ace is 9/1 to score last.
One to watch for Chelsea: Olivier Giroud is 7/1 in the same market and should feature after the break. The World Cup winner is a dependable presence and has a good scoring record against the Reds.
Long shot: Klopp has voiced his displeasure at the timing of the match and may freshen up his side with a view to playing just 72 hours later. Equally, Chelsea boss Lampard could hand Mason Mount, Marcos Alonso and Andreas Christensen starts and it should be an entertaining and open game for spectators. A 3-2 result in favour of the Reds is 28/1.
