Livingston v Ross County Predictions and Preview
It has been a tough start to the season for Livi who have shipped nine goals and lost three fixtures. The hosts did take a share of the spoils against Rangers but never looked like troubling the Light Blues backline.
Gary Holt’s mood has been compounded further by the departure of Lyndon Dykes who recently joined QPR for an undisclosed fee.
The hotshot struck on nine occasions last year and also contributed five assists from 25 appearances and will be sorely missed. It has been a good week for Dykes who earned his maiden call-up to Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad for the Nations League games with Israel and Czech Republic and the Australian born forward has been backed to deliver on the international stage.

The Lions fan favourite has been replaced by Anthony Stokes who arrived in West Lothian as a free agent. The former Celtic attacker will lead the line and has rich pedigree in the Scottish game with well over 130 efforts to his name. Stokes is 9/2 favourite to open proceedings and Holt’s troops are 21/20 to chalk up their first success of the campaign.
Travelling party Ross County are in better spirits and have decent firepower in the ranks. Ross Stewart will partner Mckay upfront and has attracted interest from Stoke City, Middlesbrough and Blackburn. The Irvine born marksman is valued at in excess of £2m and Stuart Kettlewell will hope the valuation scares off his suitors.
Stewart is 11/2 to break the deadlock while Mckay is 5/1 in the same betting. The Corby native has hit double figures in his last two years in Dingwall and with two goalscorers capable of 10 strikes or more, a top six place is a realistic target for the Staggies. County are 13/5 to emerge triumphant and the draw is 23/10.
One to watch for Livingston: Fellow new recruit Lars Lokotsch will initially start on the bench and is 11/2 to mark his debut with the final effort of the contest.
One to watch for Ross County: Blair Spittal is back in contention after shaking off a thigh strain and is an all-action midfielder. The ex-Partick Thistle ace is 5/1 to notch anytime.
Long shot: Ross County are the form side but it is worth remembering The Lions comfortably finished ahead of their opponents in the 2019-20 standings. The Staggies have certainly impressed in their five outings to date but do offer opportunities and it is up to Holt’s troops to make them count. A 3-2 outcome in favour of Livi is 45/1.
