Lyon v PSG Predictions and Preview

Captain Nabil Fekir has comfortably bettered last season’s personal haul of 9 league goals and deserves the plaudits coming his way. The Frenchman wouldn’t look out of place in the PSG squad and it’s easy to see why the playmaker has caught the eye of some of the continent’s biggest clubs. Fekir is 11/1 to break the deadlock and continue his stellar form while Les Gones are 8/1 to claim the points on the night.

The Parisians remain the division’s frontrunners and barring a miracle, will regain control of the title they lost to the Red and Whites last term. With the rumour mill already in full flow, Coach Unai Emery finds himself the subject of intense speculation and it is understood the Spaniard will be replaced at the end of the campaign.

In the meantime, PSG must direct their focus on a capable Lyon team and should the devastating trio of Neymar, Cavani or hotshot Kylian Mbappe perform, the 2/1 offer is almost a certainty.

Having only made four appearances in 2016-17 term, Giovani Lo Celso is finally making an impression with the first team. The gifted midfielder has performed in the absence of Thiago Motta and struck up an understanding with regulars Marco Verratti and Adrien Rabiot.

Despite being attack minded, Lo Celso has found himself in a more defensive role but still managed to assist Mbappe in the win against Caen. The Rosario Central youth product will see plenty of the ball and is an attractive 20/1 to open his account for the season.

One to watch for Lyon: 19-year-old Houssem Aouar has settled in seamlessly to the starting eleven and already has three strikes to his name. The youngster is 15/1 to net any time.

One to watch for PSG: Angel Di Maria has grasped his latest opportunity with both hands and deserves his place in the team. The Argentine is 4/1 to score the game’s final goal.

Long shot: Emery’s star studded group of players have only lost once this term, to struggling Strasbourg and Lyon have the talent to inflict another defeat on the leaders. The home side may be missing striker Mariano Diaz but continue to score consistently with the brilliant Fekir instrumental each passing week. A 3-1 triumph is 35/1.
