Milan v Lazio Predictions and Preview

Pioli registered his first win as Milan manager in the 1-0 midweek win against SPAL. The Rossoneri were nervous, creating very little in the first-half, much to the dismay of the crowd and finally broke the stubborn opposition’s resistance just after the hour mark courtesy of Suso.

The Spaniard, one of Milan’s most dependable performers since his arrival in 2015, found himself on the bench after a poor personal start to the campaign but delivered when it mattered most for the beleaguered Italian giants.

The former Liverpool winger should go straight back in to the side and is 3/1 to net anytime. Meanwhile, Krzysztof Piątek, who has also struggled to hit previous heights, is 7/4 in the same market.

The Pole only has three efforts to his name this campaign and is facing intense pressure from starlet Rafael Leão for the starting role upfront.

Milan are 2/1 to emerge victorious and 11/5 to earn a share of the spoils. Visitors Lazio sit in fifth, just a point off bitter rivals Roma. The Eagles have the league’s top scorer in their ranks with Ciro Immobile already in double figures.

The hotshot has notched 12 goals, four more than closest challenger Luis Muriel, as well as registering four assists and the 29-year-old is 3/1 to open the scoring. Luis Alberto, who is playing in a slightly more withdrawn role is 4/1 in the anytime scorer market and Lazio are 6/4 to clinch all three points.

One to watch for Milan: Leão has knocked on the door for a regular place in recent weeks and is already a target for Spanish heavyweights Barcelona. The Portuguese youngster is 7/1 to score last.

One to watch for Lazio: Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has six goal contributions to his name and is an attractive 10/1 to hit the final effort of the matchup. The big Serb has his admirers, both in Italy and across Europe.

Long shot: Milan’s clean sheet against SPAL was the Rossoneri’s first in seven outings. In contrast, Lazio can’t stop scoring, and have netted 11 from their last four games and it will be a real test of resolve for the Rossoneri rearguard. The hosts will be in good spirits after getting back on the winning trail but may have to settle for a point. A 2-2 outcome is 13/1.
