Milan vs. Sampdoria Predictions and Preview
Gennaro Gattuso will seek an immediate response from his men after the disappointing manner of Milan’s defeat in the Derby della Madonnina. The Rossoneri were a distant second best in the encounter but appeared set for a share of the spoils until Mauro Icardi struck in the closing stages. The Argentine won the battle of the big name strikers as compatriot Gonzalo Higuain struggled to make his presence felt. Despite the ineffectual performance, Higuain still has an impressive six goals to his name and is the obvious choice to open the scoring against Sampdoria. The Milan loanee is available at 5/4 and also 7/1 to get two or more.
Playmaker Suso is also worth considering. The Spaniard has created six goals from just eight appearances, leading the way in the division ahead of the likes of Ivan Perisic and Douglas Costa. Suso has also struck twice and is a major threat when cutting in on his favoured left foot. The ex-Liverpool starlet is 9/4 to net anytime and will see plenty of the ball. Milan are 11/20 to get back on track and claim all three points.

Visitors Sampdoria sit in the European places and continue to impress. The Blucerchiati started the previous campaign superbly and already have four wins from nine fixtures this term. Loanee Gregoire Defrel leads the way with five efforts domestically and is 15/8 to register anytime during the 90. Doria are 5/1 to inflict further misery on Milan and keep the pressure on Lazio in fourth spot.
One to watch for Milan: Patrick Cutrone has played second fiddle to Higuain but could feature at the expense of Hakan Çalhanoğlu. The young Italian will run tirelessly but also has the quality to match the endeavour.
One to watch for Sampdoria: Fabio Quagliarella continues to roll back the years and hasn’t lost any of his ability from distance. The evergreen frontman will drop deep, and in turn, unsettle his marker.
Long shot: After just eight contests, the Rossoneri already find themselves playing catch up to the usual suspects Juventus, Napoli, Inter and Roma. The Milanese giants have two winnable matches on home soil and need to put a run together before the gap to a European place is insurmountable. A 3-1 can be found at 11/1.
