Milan v Sassuolo Predictions and Preview

After back-to-back wins, Rossoneri boss Stefano Pioli will hope his men have finally turned the corner. The hosts have endured a miserable four months, effectively since the season started, but the away day triumphs against Parma and Bologna should provide some confidence in the camp.

Theo Hernandez has been the unlikely hero this term, particularly in recent weeks, bagging in both of his last two appearances and is Milan’s top scorer.

The French born full-back arrived in the summer from Real Madrid, at the request of club legend Paolo Maldini, and his form has reportedly caught the eye of a number of clubs on the continent.

A defender by trade, Hernandez has been the catalyst for Milan’s best attacking moves and his goals have been the difference between winning and drawing. The 22-year-old needs no invitation to get forward and is 10/1 to score anytime and add to his haul of four league goals.

Further forward, Krzysztof Piatek finally got back on the goalscoring trail in the win at Bologna, after failing to net in his last six matches. The Pole is 10/3 to open proceedings and Milan are 4/7 to claim all three points.

Elsewhere, Sassuolo were pegged back in the previous week by Cagliari. The Neroverdi raced in to a shock 2-0 lead, before Joao Pedro and Daniele Ragatzu pegged back Roberto De Zerbi’s troops.

The visitors, who have only won one of their last six domestic clashes, are 4/1 to emerge triumphant, and could do with taking something from the contest. The draw is 10/3.

One to watch for Milan: Jack Bonaventura is back in the first-team and is 11/5 to score anytime. The 30-year-old has two from his last three appearances and his creativity has boosted a Rossoneri side in desperate need of fresh dynamism and spark.

One to watch for Sassuolo: Domenico Berardi should arguably be playing at a higher level, but his employers won’t be concerned or seeking offers for their talisman. The attacker, who has eight goals to his name, is 8/1 to strike first.

Long shot: Milan are eight points adrift of a European berth and while those connected with the club will hope they can put a run together, the Rossoneri are unpredictable and consistently inconsistent. Meanwhile, opponents Sassuolo offer value and a goal threat, but also possess a leaky rearguard. An entertaining 2-2 final outcome is 16/1.
