Napoli vs. Roma Predictions and Preview

Napoli could well be five points behind leaders Milan by the time this game kicks off on Monday night, with the added possibility of Juventus being only one point off their current third spot. In a season where it has sometimes felt as though no club wants to win the scudetto, Napoli are now getting to the stage where every game counts.

Roma are also looking to stay in the hunt for Champions League qualification, of course. It has not always been pretty under Jose Mourinho this season but he has overseen a campaign that could well pay dividends. Three points here would really shake up the European race.

The home side come into this game hoping to forget the defeat to Fiorentina last weekend. There have been comparisons made this week to the failure of 2018 and the Partenopei must now prove that they can stay the distance.

Napoli vs. Roma full time result odds

There are no injury worries for either side, so both managers will have a full strength side to call upon for this crucial fixture. Luciano Spalletti will be hoping that his team can link up a little better with top scorer Victor Osimhen, while Jose Mourinho will look to Tammy Abraham to find his goalscoring touch again after failing to find the net in the last two games. A battling draw, priced at 13/5, could well be the final outcome.

Napoli vs. Roma both teams to score odds

Roma have defended relatively well this season – unsurprisingly for a Mourinho side. But they have conceded more goals than any of the top four. Napoli have hardly been shy in going forward either, so there is definitely the potential for goals on Monday. Desperation may play a part as well, however. Defeat for either side would be dangerous, so a low-scoring game could be the result. Both teams should score at 7/10 though.

Napoli vs. Roma correct score odds

Napoli have already lost five times at home in the league this season, as well as in the Coppa Italia and the Europa League. So home advantage may not be relevant here. Roma don’t have the most impressive away record, although they are on a good run of form at the moment. With so much on the line, a 1-1 draw – at odds of 11/2 – that does little for either side could be the result.

Napoli vs. Roma first goalscorer odds

Victor Osimhen is the top scorer for Napoli this season, but there is a feeling that he should have found the net more often – even taking into consideration his injury problems. He is the favourite to score first on Monday but it would be just like a Jose Mourinho side for Roma to upset the odds and Tammy Abraham looks very good value at 11/2.
