Norwich v Burnley Predictions and Preview
Norwich City’s ship has sailed this season, with the Canaries consigned to an immediate return to the Championship after only a single campaign back in the big time. Burnley, on the other hand, are looking up the table and aiming for an unlikely place in Europe.
A tilt at the Europa League proved to be something of a disaster for the Clarets last season, but Sean Dyche may be able to prepare his squad better given the chance again. Or more to the point, should he stay at the club after some rumbling of discontent in recent weeks and months.
Burnley should surely be minded to keep hold of their talented manager, who looks set to secure another impressive finish for the small Lancastrian outfit. Burnley took a five-match unbeaten run into Wednesday’s home game against Wolves, which included three wins and draws against Liverpool and Sheffield United.

Burnley to win 2-0
Burnley to win and under 2.5 goals
Norwich, meanwhile, have been dreadful since the restart, losing all seven of their fixtures going into Tuesday’s trip to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea. The Canaries won plenty of plaudits for their early season performances, which included a superb victory over Manchester City, but Daniel Farke’s squad limitations have been brutally exposed over the course of the campaign.
The hosts’ squad has struggled for goals, and will be deprived of their opening scorer from January’s FA Cup win against Burnley. The influential Grant Hanley will miss the entire run-in after hamstring surgery, while Sam Byram, Christoph Zimmermann and Moritz Leitner are all out of this game too.
Burnley have a similar number injuries to contend with. Ben Mee, Ashley Barnes, Matthew Lowton and Jack Cork are all sidelined through injury, but the Clarets continue to record some impressive results without that quartet. They are the 11/8 favourites to pick up another one with a win here, while Norwich are 11/5 and the draw is priced at 5/2.
One to watch for Norwich vs. Burnley: The goals have completely dried up for Teemu Pukki. After netting 11 Premier League goals in Norwich’s first 24 games, he hasn’t scored since late January, with the Canaries only managing to score twice in their 11 games since. Even so, the Finnish striker is a threat and 4/1 to open the scoring here.
One to watch for Burnley: Chris Wood has also scored 11 Premier League goals this term, although the New Zealand striker’s record is more consistent. There’s added pressure on Wood with strike partner Barnes out, and he is the 7/2 favourite to break the deadlock in this match.
Long shot: Burnley beat Norwich 2-0 when the teams met at Turf Moor earlier this season. The Clarets will fancy their chances of picking up another three points and a clean sheet here, with the visitors 21/2 to win 2-0 once again. With the in-form Jay Rodriguez scoring first, those odds rise to 49/1.
