Osasuna vs. Barcelona Predictions and Preview
Barcelona have a superb record against Osasuna, scoring 24 goals in winning five of the last six meetings between the teams. Nineteen of those goals came at the Nou Camp though, so does that give the home fans a glimmer of hope coming into this weekend’s fixture?
Possibly. Los Rojillos held on for a goalless draw against Barca back in 2013 at El Sadar, although the Catalan giants won 3-0 on their last visit to this ground. The visitors are expected to welcome Messi back into the side following an injury, but Luis Suarez is out until the middle of September.
However, Ernesto Valverde’s side did pretty well without their tried and trusted strike duo last weekend, as Antoine Griezmann stepped up to announce himself to his new supporters at the Nou Camp in style. Despite going behind to an early Nail Fekir goal, Griezmann’s brace put Barca in control against Real Betis, before the champions ran away with it 5-2.

Carles Perez may have to give way to Messi, but he and fellow youngster and debutant Ansu Fati will both hope for some more minutes after impressing against Betis. The victory was an excellent response from the Blaugrana after their opening day defeat to Athletic Bilbao, and they’re fully expected to continue their resurgence here.
The visitors are the overwhelming 1/4 favourites to pick up the win on Saturday, against an Osasuna outfit who won the Segunda Division by eight points from Granada last season. Jagoba Arrasate’s side began their return to the top flight with a very good 1-0 victory away to Leganes, before a goalless draw at home to Eibar last weekend.
Los Rojillos will cause a few upsets this season, and they are 12/1 to do just that in this fixture. After Barcelona’s convincing return to form last weekend though, a draw would be an excellent result for the home team, and that’s priced at 5/1.
One to watch for Osasuna: Chimy Avila scored Osasuna’s winner at Leganes in their season opener, and after 10 La Liga goals for Huesca last term, the Argentine forward is 13/1 to break the deadlock here.
One to watch for Barcelona: Antoine Griezmann lit up the Nou Camp last weekend, in what was a big performance and big moment following his controversial move from Atletico Madrid. The French attacker is 5/1 to follow that up with the opening goal in this game.
Long shot: There’s been 18 goals in the last three matches between these teams, with Barcelona scoring 17 of them. An over 5.5 goals bet in this game is available at 11/1, while you can get 28/1 if you stretch that to over 6.5 goals.
