Parma vs. Inter Predictions and Preview

Serie A fan favourites Parma seek an historic Serie A double against Inter on their return to the big time. The Gialloblù sit in a very respectable 12th place, and should have no fears about being sucked in to a relegation battle as the campaign approaches its decisive period.

Parma hit the headlines in the previous gameweek after their remarkable comeback against champions Juventus. Roberto D’Aversa’s troops fought back from what looked like a guaranteed three points for the Bianconeri after the Turin outfit took a 3-1 lead, until Gervinho’s inspired double drew the teams level in stoppage time.

The Gialloblù have not been embarrassed by any team they have faced this year and the point was just reward for their daring approach to the contest. Parma are 4/1 to chalk up another victory and 14/5 to earn a share of the spoils.

The outlook is not as bright in the opposing camp. Not only did Inter lose to Torino and strugglers Bologna, they were booted out of the Coppa Italia on penalties in the tie with Lazio. The Milan giants only hold a five point advantage over seventh and with fixtures with Sampdoria, the Rossoneri, Atalanta, Roma and the Bianconeri to come, there is a palpable nervousness around the club.

Nevertheless, the Nerazzurri are 4/6 favourites for the duel and have the personnel to hurt Parma in what would be a huge three points for beleaguered tactician Luciano Spalletti who is clinging on to his job.

Latest Form

One to watch for Parma: Roberto Inglese has eight strikes to his name this term and his consistently good displays have earned him a regular place in Roberto Mancini’s international setup. Inglese is 2/1 in the anytime market.

One to watch for Inter: Ivan Perisic is back in the starting line-up after his January move to Arsenal fell through. The Croatian wideman is 9/5 to net anytime and remains a top class performer.

Long shot: Aside from Milan and Torino, no side has scored less than Inter in the top-half of the division. Conversely, Parma have shipped nearly double the number of goals as their opponents this weekend but have proven they can trouble Spalletti’s side. A 2-2 scoreline is 17/1.
