Parma v Milan Predictions and Preview
Parma have only won three of their 29 games and it has been a disastrous year for the proud Emilia-Romagna outfit. Roberto D’Aversa surprisingly received his marching orders in August 2020, despite achieving safety with ease and compatriot Fabio Liverani came in. The former Lecce boss only lasted four months in the job before D’Aversa returned to the dugout and the off-field chaos has undoubtedly unsettled the players.

The Crociati are the division’s lowest scorers this term and have been badly hit by Dejan Kulusevski’s departure and Andreas Cornelius’ profligacy in front of goal. The silky Swede joined Juventus, while his former team-mate has one strike to his name from 20 appearances after bagging double figures in the previous term.
Graziano Pelle and Dennis Man bolstered the ranks in the winter and have given Parma an outlet. The youngster was courted by Fiorentina and is set to star for his country at Euro 2020. Man is 9/4 to register anytime and Pelle can be found at 7/4. Vice-captain Gervinho is available at 4/1 in the same market and the Crociati are 15/4 to pull off a priceless victory.
Opponents Milan sit in second, but only hold a small cushion on Napoli who are outside of the Champions League places. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is 23/10 to open proceedings and is finally close to signing a 12-month extension with the Rossoneri.
The veteran has an outstanding personal record against Parma and will be supplied by Hakan Calhanoglu, Ante Rebic and Rafael Leao. The Turkish ace is reportedly waiting to see if Milan achieve their chief objective of returning to Europe’s premier competition before committing his long-term future to the Italian giants, but boss Stefano Pioli has backed his man to let his performances do the talking in the meantime. Rebic is 9/2 to break the deadlock and the travelling party are 7/10 to emerge triumphant. A share of the spoils is 37/13.
One to watch for Parma: Juraj Kucka donned Rossoneri colours from 2015-17 and was a popular figure in the dressing room. The midfielder currently averages one in four for the strugglers and is 10/3 to notch anytime.
One to watch for Milan: Leao has been deemed non-transferable by Paolo Maldini and has developed well under Pioli’s guidance. The speedster is 31/5 to net last.
Long shot: Parma may have proverbial six-pointers with Crotone and Torino coming up but it would be a grave mistake for the Crociati to write off the duel with Milan. The hosts probably need a minimum of five wins to guarantee survival and a success over the Rossoneri would be the perfect tonic ahead of a tense run-in. A 1-0 outcome in favour of D’Aversa’s troops is 16/1.
