Real Sociedad v Real Madrid Predictions and Preview
Imanol Alguacil’s squad are three points away from matching last term’s final tally with nine rounds of action still to play. Sociedad were beaten 2-0 by Alaves in the previous gameweek but the Basque born coach is unlikely to ring the changes.
Alguacil’s front four of Willian Jose, Adnan Januzaj, Mikel Oyarzabal and Los Blancos loanee Martin Odegaard have run riot this year and Madrid will need to be at their very best to keep the quartet at bay. Jose was strongly linked to Tottenham Hotspur in the winter window but has buckled down and led the line impeccably.
The Brazilian is 11/5 to notch anytime and will relish the physical battle with Sergio Ramos. Midfielder Odegaard has been a revelation since joining on a temporary basis last summer and is expected to be in the Madrid matchday squad at the very least next campaign. The Norwegian is 7/2 in the same market as his teammate. Sociedad are 3/1 to emerge triumphant and 14/5 to claim a share of the spoils.

Visitors Real coasted to a 3-0 victory over Valencia on Thursday. Karim Benzema hit a brace and Marco Asensio marked his return to action with a fine strike. Zidane has also been boosted by the form of Eden Hazard after the wideman’s injury hit debut term in Spain.
Hazard looked sharp against Eibar and Los Che and linked up particularly well with Benzema. The Belgian is 11/2 to break the deadlock while the 20-goal vice-captain is 15/4 favourite. Madrid are 17/20 to maintain the pressure on Quique Setién’s champions.
One to watch for Real Sociedad: Alexander Isak has 14 strikes from 35 appearances in his debut season at the club and is proving Borussia Dortmund were wrong to move him on. The giant Swede is 7/1 to net last.
One to watch for Real Madrid: Asensio is back in the first-team fold after missing the entirety of the campaign through injury. The Spaniard is almost like a new signing and is 13/2 to mark his first appearance of the year with the final goal of the tie.
Long shot: Sociedad have already beaten Madrid this campaign and will proudly take their place in the Copa del Rey Final as a result. The White and Blues are formidable on home soil, and have earned points from 11 of their 14 matches at the Anoeta to date. A 2-0 victory, hurting Los Blancos’ title hopes in the process, is 28/1.
