Roma v Fiorentina Predictions and Preview
Paulo Fonseca’s troops sit in fifth after crushing SPAL 6-1. The Giallorossi had five different goalscorers on the night and the Portuguese tactician will have been delighted with how his men fared in the absence of Dzeko.
The Bosnian had a much-needed breather and it was his deputy Nikola Kalinic who opened the scoring. Roma have been heavily reliant on Dzeko ever since his move from Manchester City and it was important for Fonseca to analyse his options, particularly if his star forward moves to Inter in August.
Dzeko is a long-term target of Antonio Conte and while the 34-year-old has not pushed for a move, he is unlikely to turn down the opportunity of playing for a Scudetto and Champions League hopeful. The hitman will go straight back in to the eleven and is 10/3 to open proceedings.

Zaniolo can also expect to start after his dazzling solo effort in Emilia-Romagna. The prodigiously gifted midfielder ran the length of the pitch to net his eighth of the campaign and Roma are braced for a number of offers this summer for the Italian. Zaniolo is 21/10 to register anytime and Kolarov is 7/2 in the same market. The Giallorossi are 4/7 to chalk up the victory and a draw is 16/5.
Opponents Fiorentina are approaching the end of another disappointing year. The Viola possess top quality footballers in Federico Chiesa, Gaetano Castrovilli and Franck Ribery but are nowhere near their target of a European place.
Top scorer Chiesa is 7/1 to break the deadlock while the legendary Frenchman is available at 9/1. The duo will flank Patrick Cutrone and the ex-Milan attacker needs to put in a good performance with Christian Kouame finally fit and at the disposal of Iachini. Fiorentina are 4/1 to chalk up the success.
One to watch for Roma: Only Dzeko has scored more goals for the Giallorossi this term than Henrikh Mkhitaryan and the Armenian skipper is 8/2 to get the opener.
One to watch for Fiorentina: Kouame contributed five goals and two assists for a struggling Genoa before moving to Florence in January. The Ivorian offers dynamism and pace and is 10/1 to strike last.
Long shot: Roma have shuffled the pack in recent weeks and Dzeko, Mkhitaryan, Zaniolo and Jordan Veretout are all fresh for the run-in. The Giallorossi still have the Europa League to contend with and the competition for places is fierce in camp. A 3-0 triumph against a group safe, and going through the motions, is 16/1.
