Serie A surprise package Sampdoria host fellow European challengers Inter in game week 29 of the season.
Marco Giampaolo’s men are eight adrift of their underperforming opponents and have been formidable on home soil, winning ten matches at Luigi Ferraris, in contrast to just three victories on the road. Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri continue to look out of sorts and morale is low in camp.
Where and when: Luigi Ferraris – 18 March, kick-off 11:30

Last time: Milan Skriniar and a trademark Mauro Icardi double gave Inter an unassailable first-half lead. Dawid Kownacki and Fabio Quagliarella did make it a contest after the break but Luciano Spalletti’s side held on for a 3-2 triumph.
Sampdoria v Inter Predictions and Preview
The Beneamata currently sit in fifth but know a win on Sunday will see them move above Lazio, albeit temporarily, and in to the Champions League places. Inter have played a game less than their nearest challengers and may have bitter rivals Milan to soon contend with if they fail to put a run together.
The 2010 title winners have earned maximum points from two of their last nine league games and the most recent success against basement club Benevento gave a real insight in to the current malaise at the club. The relegation candidates were the better side on the day and a better team would have certainly put Inter to the sword.
To their credit, the Nerazzurri did frustrate Scudetto chasers Napoli in their recent encounter but this was still not enough for an irate Spalletti, who publicly berated a host of his players after the final whistle. Worryingly, the goals seem to have even dried up for captain and talisman Icardi and this could spell doom for Inter. With showdowns against Juventus, Lazio and the Rossoneri still to navigate, the one goalscoring certainty in the top four hopeful’s ranks is also off the boil.
Nevertheless, Spalletti’s travelling party are favourites for the clash at 23/20 though it is shaping up to be another tough battle.
Hosts Sampdoria suffered a setback last weekend, losing 4-1 to lowly Crotone. Central to the Blucerchiati’s hopes is Quagliarella and the evergreen forward is in the form of his life. With 17 strikes to his name, the 35-year-old is only one shy of Icardi and is an attractive 5/1 to open proceedings. Doria come in at 9/4 to pick up another big scalp and this presents good value.
One to watch for Sampdoria: Napoli bound Lucas Torreira has a couple of thunderbolts to his name this term and is a threat from distance. The midfielder is 27/2 to bag any time during the 90.
One to watch for Inter: Icardi is the obvious choice despite his below par showings in recent weeks. The Argentine star is 4/1 to get on the scoresheet first.
Long shot: Sampdoria could not be playing Inter at a better time and will fancy their chances. The Blucerchiati have got the better of Milan, Atalanta, Fiorentina and, perhaps most impressively, champions Juventus and each coup has come at home. A distinguished 3-1 win for Doria is available at 39/1 and should come under consideration.
