Sampdoria v Milan Predictions and Preview
Milan are in great shape at present and will bid to reach double figures unbeaten in Serie A this season. The Rossoneri have a good record against Sampdoria in recent campaigns, while they could welcome back their talisman for this weekend’s game in Genoa.
Ibrahimovic has missed Milan’s last couple of games with a hip injury, and after rattling in 10 goals in his first six league appearances of the season, Rossoneri coach Stefano Pioli will hope to have the domineering Swede back as soon as possible.
Il Diavolo managed just fine without their star striker when beating Fiorentina 2-0 last weekend though, and the away team are the 4/5 favourites in this Sampdoria v Milan preview. The Rossoneri have won seven of their opening nine Serie A fixtures, scoring an impressive 21 goals in the process and conceding eight.

Sampdoria are 18/5 for the win, as they go in search of their first win in six matches in all competitions. The Blucerchiati won all four of their fixtures in October, but followed that up with three losses and two draws in November.
All of those games were against teams currently placed 10th or lower in the Serie A table, while La Samp also crashed out of the Coppa Italia against Genoa. Claudio Ranieri needs to inject some positivity and confidence into his players, and a win against early pacesetters Milan would do beautifully.
Getting one is going to be very tough for Il Doria, but they at least have a near fully-fit squad for this game. Keita Balde is Ranieri’s only injury concern, while Sampdoria also have more time to prepare for this game following Milan’s Europa League clash with Celtic on Thursday.
Even so, a draw would still be a great result for the hosts, and that’s available at 3/1 this weekend. Sampdoria have struggled against Milan in recent years, losing four of their last six matches against the Rossoneri, with the league leaders in superb form at present.
One to watch for Sampdoria: Fabio Quagliarella may turn 38 next month, but the veteran striker is proving age is just a number after returning to goalscoring form with five goals in his first nine games of the season. He is 9/2 to break the deadlock on Sunday night.
One to watch for Milan: With both Ibrahimovic and Raphael Leao both injury concerns for these Sampdoria v Milan predictions, the likes of Ante Rebic will need to step up for the Rossoneri. The Croatian forward is 5/1 in the first goalscorer odds for this game.
Long shot: Milan were excellent at this stadium just over four months ago, and they are 28/1 to make it back-to-back 4-1 victories over Sampdoria this weekend. With Rebic scoring first, those odds rise to 155/1.
