Serie A tips of the week: Crazy Inter keep on giving

Parma vs. Inter, Serie A

Football Italia’s Susy Campanale takes you through the best Serie A bets of the week…

We’re back in business and so are Juventus, streaking out four points in front after Lazio lost a thriller to Atalanta and their 21-round unbeaten streak. Inter slipped up too with Sassuolo and face another very tricky trip to Parma this weekend, while the Biancocelesti host misfiring Fiorentina.

There are some very intriguing games coming up with real potential for betting opportunities, such as the Sassuolo-Hellas Verona clash and Milan-Roma for European places.

Another Inter upset

Parma vs. Inter – Sunday June 28, Stadio Tardini, Kick-off: 8.45pm

Antonio Conte said he’d change the ‘Crazy Inter’ tag, but it takes more than one man to tame the wild beast that is this club. Just as they were talking Scudetto hopes, a rollercoaster of a 3-3 draw with Sassuolo threw everything back in the air and Atalanta are breathing down their necks for third instead.

Parma are one of the surprise outfits of the season, but their exploits are not always given the credit they deserve. Perhaps it’s because they are so focused on counter-attacks, but that makes them particularly dangerous against the bigger clubs and a goal can shake up a side as mentally fragile as Inter.

Milan Skriniar is suspended, further weakening the Nerazzurri defence, while Yann Karamoh could start against his parent club along with unstoppable Andreas Cornelius and soon to be Juventus striker Dejan Kulusevski. This will not be dull.

Best bet for Parma vs. Inter: Parma to score both halves at 5/1 on William Hill

Rossoneri riled up

Milan vs. Roma – Sunday June 28, San Siro, Kick-off: 4.15pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

These teams and clubs both used to have far loftier ambitions than scrapping it out for a place in the Europa League while trying to stave off Financial Fair Play penalties, but here we are in 2020. The Rossoneri are nine points behind fifth place, but their 4-1 hammering of Lecce boosted morale and the Coppa Italia semi-final draw with Juventus was, although ultimately disappointing, by no means a bad performance.

It had been hoped Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be ready in time for this game, but perhaps they don’t need him so much when Ante Rebic provides so much movement, supported by Samu Castillejo and a reborn Hakan Calhanoglu. Simon Kjaer is a major doubt in defence, while Roma looked very shaky in their 2-1 win over Sampdoria, rescued by Edin Dzeko’s volleys. That was their first game back, this is Milan’s third, so expect the Rossoneri to end strong in the heat.

Best bet for Milan vs. Roma: Last Goal Milan at 17/20 with William Hill

Exciting minnows

Sassuolo vs. Verona – Sunday June 28, Mapei Stadium, Kick-off: 6.30pm

Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming

Serie A is proving to be hugely entertaining not just for its giants, but the mid-table clubs like Sassuolo and Hellas Verona who absolutely insist on playing attacking football at all times. They make for fascinating viewing and plenty of goals, as we saw when the Neroverdi held Inter 3-3 on Wednesday.

Roberto De Zerbi and Ivan Juric go head-to-head for potentially a place in Europe, but more than anything else to put on a show. They are tactical purists and we should relish the opportunity to watch them.

Best bet for Sassuolo vs. Verona: Over 3.5 Goals at 23/10 with Bet Victor
