We kicked off 2021 with plenty of goals and I can see the trend continuing into this midweek round. The spotlight is undoubtedly on San Siro, where leaders Milan host a Juventus side seemingly set to lose their Scudetto crown after nine years of undisputed dominance.
I was torn between the tip I went with – Over 3.5 Goals – and a hunch that there will be a penalty taken. Both teams tend to get a lot of spot-kicks and there’s a long, ugly history of controversial incidents involving these two, so I can certainly see it happening, especially with walking catastrophe Rade Krunic in midfield.
I used that in the accumulator instead, but it’s well worth a separate bet at 6/4 on William Hill. Elsewhere, it’s more Atalanta Overs, Fiorentina to frustrate Lazio and the resurgence of Torino against a Verona side that is struggling.

Milan-Juve Scudetto showdown
Milan vs. Juventus – Wednesday January 6, Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Kick-off: 7.45pm
Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming
Milan have scored at least two goals in each of their last 18 Serie A matches and I don’t see that trend stalling against a Juventus side that continues to leak goals with wild abandon. Sandro Tonali is suspended and Ismael Bennacer injured, so Rade Krunic is in midfield and provides very little coverage for his defence. Even in the absence of Alvaro Morata, Juve should at least get one goal at San Siro and I can see it becoming a shoot-out.
Best bet for Milan vs. Juventus: Over 3.5 Goals at 2/1 on Bet Victor
Frustrating Fiorentina
Lazio vs. Fiorentina – Wednesday January 6, Stadio Olimpico, Kick-off: 2.00pm
Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming
It’s starting to look like the 3-0 win away to Juventus really was an aberration for Fiorentina. They first and foremost keep it tight at the back under Cesare Prandelli and frustrate the opposition. Lazio may well be an ideal victim for them, because they are vulnerable to the counter-attack and have dropped so many points at home this season, not to mention barely scraping a 1-1 draw at Genoa on Sunday. I can see this being a stalemate.
Best bet for Lazio vs. Fiorentina: Draw at 14/5 with 888 Sport
Atalanta ablaze
Atalanta vs. Parma – Wednesday January 6, Gewiss Stadium, Kick-off: 2.00pm
Watch live on Premier Sports/Streaming
It’s the start of January, the period when Atalanta tend to step on the gas and surge up the standings. Their 5-1 demolition of Sassuolo suggests this year is no different and they are up against a truly awful Parma side who are toothless without Gervinho and managed to lose 3-0 at home to Torino. This could get ugly.
Best bet for Atalanta vs. Parma: Over 3.5 Goals at 11/10 with Bet Victor
